Saw the new Samsung 3D LED series 8 with 800MHz motion, I wonder in actual how does this compare to Plasma's norm of 600MHz?
*
i agree with Optiplex303.. just marketing gimmick... so far after a lot of reading and testing... LED 3D TV no good at all... crosstalk/ghosting issues...

Just bought samsung led 40d5000 rm2399.. A good deal? Just confius it internet tv enable or not? Thxxx
*
Nope, this TV is not internet TV enable as it doesnt have the smart hub capability... What it can do is media streaming your content from pc to this TV. Internet connectivity of this TV is very limited...
Well, perhaps in the near future, Samsung will give an updated firmware which can enable the Internet TV

I am new to this forum.... rclxub.gif

Somebody please be kind enough to PM me the best price for Samsung LED 3D UA46C8000/UA46C7000 in
KL and the addresses as well....
Thanks
*
My advise.. dont get this TV.
R u looking for 3DTV. As of now, i wont recomment people to get LED 3DTV because of ghosting/crosstalk. But if u insist on it get the new 2011 model.
In term of 3D performance, UA46D6600 has a better 3D implementation compared to UA46C8000/UA46C7000

Read my 3D impression here. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1825421

Feel free to ask any 3D related question there...

I got an offer from a vender...

Samsung UA40C7000 + Samsung BDC5500 + 2 X Glasses for = 4000MYR
Fair enough or too expensive....?
can somebody comment ASAP pls
(Azace: looking for your opinion....)
Thanks.
*
Hmm,
Sorry for the late reply... cause I tot i already reply your post here... http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1825421, but my mistake, cause that one was on ex720

Anyway, this is a reasonable offer if u considering the offer is for a 2D TV (the 3D function for this TV is disaster) + a 3D blu ray player
The UA40C7000 has a very good 2D performance. and a 3D blu ray player in msia is very expensive

Problem with 2010 Samsung 3DTV
i. The 3D performance is very bad... as for samsung, this is their first generation of 3D LED. Thus, they could not effectively manage the LED/LCD panel switching resulting a lot of noticeable crosstalk. Plus major problem with all 2010 Samsung LED/LCD model is
ii. Lost of sync between their 3d glasses with the 3DTV. The performance of their 3D glasses is so poor that even a relatively bright screen can cause the 3D glasses to be out of sync... And to make matter worst, (since samsung learn their mistake and for 2011, they uses bluetooth instead of IR), this glasses is not compatible with the 2011 model...

If u want a samsung 3DTV LED/LCD go for 2011 D6600 series (well its not a good 3DTV, but still watchable). If u dont mind smaller size go for pana 37 DT30. So far the best LED/LCD 3DTV.
Btw, why dont you look at the pana plasma 3DTV GT30, is out in the market, but funny thing is, for msia market they only sell the 42" size...

Between Samsung LED TV UN55D8000 and Panasonic TC-P65GT30, which one I should go for? Please advise me. Mostly for PS3 and bluray.
*
if 3d, definitely plasma, should go for pana GT30.. just check whether there's an issues for loss of sync on the 3d glasses.. but this should not be an issues anymore for 2011 model

Eh, in malaysia they bring the P65GT30 ka... i tot they dont bring that size here...
care to share where u saw this size..
anyway, r u sure u get the right model.. i tot GT30 biggest size is 50".. hmmmmm

Well, I didn't saw the actual GT30 but one shop in Sungai Petani display Samsung LED 55" beside the Panasonic Plasma 65". Didn't ask for the model since I was shopping with my family for other thing.

When I saw those two and compare them, I feel plasma is better since it's bigger. Samsung has brighter color than Pana plasma but that is because it right beside the window and it was daytime. But ultimately, the question is can plasma TV withstand a very long usage? When I play PS3, usually it would last about 6 to 12 hours non-stop. Sometime, I would do a movie marathon that would last about 6 hours.
*
Well.. no worries.. u wanna play for 3days straight also no hal... now plasma screen is very good..

oh yeah, to let u know... game like fallout may left some image retention after playing long time (from the HUD)... but the image retention will go away after a few min of watching normal tv or film
I play dragon age 2 and socom4 for many2 hours... image retention takde

huhu.. warning for u la.. if u go bigger.. there's no way u can go back watching small screen..

QUOTE(aj350z @ Jun 6 2011, 04:57 PM)
Hi guys, need some advice on a new 3D hdtv for my home theater setup.  i am going through an upgrade process one at a time and just recently bought the panasonic dmp-bdt210 blu-ray player (which is a 3D player) to upgrade my aging DVD player.

My current TV is a Pana Plasma TH42PA60A which is hooked up to a relatively new Pioneer VSX-1019AH.

Credit to Panasonic, the TV is more than 5 years old but the picture quality is still top notch but am looking for a Full HD and 3D TV.

Any recommendations?  I am still probably sticking to plasma (unless someone can convince me otherwise).  All the help you guys can give is appreciated.
*
Well, if u wanna go for 3D, plasma is the best choice for now. Currently, the best 3DTV is from Panasonic. Issues need to know with 3D is crosstalk/ghosting, more crosstalk/ghosting, the content become unviewable.
U wont go wrong if u buy the 2011 Plasma Model regardless of Manufacturer (Pana, Sam, LG)
If u wanna get the 2010 model, get only the pana GT20 or VT20.

For 3D, u might need to consider a bigger screen.

U can read my review on my TV and 3D impression here... http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1825421

Currently a good TV for that price would be Pana P42GT20K (2010 Model)... price is below RM3.5K if u knew where to look...
Try to get other forumer feedback on this TV... for 2010 pana model, their cons is only loss of syn of the 3d glasses with the TV... (someuser has feedback, they have no issues with this)

QUOTE(silverbolt143 @ Oct 10 2011, 12:41 PM)
Hi bros, need some advise...i have narrowed down my options as per below:

If i goes for Plasma:
- Samsung 3D Plasma 43" PS43D491
- Samsung Plasma 43" PS43D451
- Panasonic 42" Plasma TH-P42U30K
Note: I kinda like the sammy (because its value for money) but the aspect ratio 4:3 (1024x768) such a turn-off for me. Unless somebody can convince me that its not a big deal in term of PQ and no problem watching 720p without scaling.

If goes for LED:
- Panasonic LED TV - L42E3K (50hz  sad.gif but extra 2 inches)
- Toshiba LED 40" - 40PS10E (not sure PQ better than Sammy or Pana. also dont know if its capable of 100hz)
- Samsung LED UA40D5000 (seems like a good option but not sure on it media player capabilities)

My major requirements and viewing preference
1) at least 40 incher
2) willing to extend to RM2500 if the models comes with good media player which can play at least 720p mkv x.264 DTS file.
3) can hook up 2TB HDD and play movie directly.
4) If possible, at least true HD ready reso of 1280×720 or 1366×768.
5) If LED, at least 100hz

If my requirement no 2 and 3 is not possible with the above listed models:
- i would rather go for cheaper model with the remaining requirements met (No 1,4,5)..
- And just hook up dedicated Media Player (WDTV, AcRyan) to the TV....
- Example: Sammy Plasma 43" PS43D450, Panasonic 42" Plasma TH-P42X30K, Samsung LED UA40D5003

Appreciate any advise from the expert and current user.... notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
So, hows the tv shopping.. bought any tv yet
anyway... if i were u... i narrow it to two choice
i. Pana U30plasma.. issues is glaring, n media capability is the worst
ii. Samsung D5000 led... minor is not good 100hz function, good media capability, not sure on 2TB disk, but 1TB disk no issues (in theory since this TV support ntfs, 2tb should no problem supporting, but it may not work as some 2tb hdd require higher power consumption)

and after consideration, will get the samsung UAD5000

A top rated media player is around RM700+/-. Can play almost everything and no problem with HDD size. I would go this route.

yep i agree with you... this should be the way... dont rely on the tv media capability since it have a lot of limitation...

with rm700, a top rated media player can even play 3d blu ray iso (not typical SBS MKV).. but where u get the 3d blu ray iso.. up to u laa... hheheheh

Hmm.. panny hav 55"? I tot here they have size like 50 n goes to 65... maybe the ST hav this size..
uoh... on another note... finally pana will bring their UT30 to malaysia... wat laaa...

now i understand y they selling their U30 very cheap...

Hi, anyone can suggest a good 46" LED TV budget around RM 4k and below ?
Smart TV and 3D  are optional as I'll connect it with HTPC... more towards the quality and value of money ..

Model into consideration so far : UA46D5000
*
Add the sharp LE830.. also less than 4k..

If u have a slight thought on 3D.. this is the TV... but media capability 5uck big time...

Guys which one is more worthy for normal astro SD usage only.

Samsung PS51D451 (rm2230) vs PS51D491 (rm2460)

d451 is 1076x768 (4:3) vs d491 is 1366x768 (16:9)

Will the astro sd content looks better on d451 than d491?
Will the astro sd get stretched on d491?

If they look the same then i'll go for d491 since it has more pixels and support 3d with only rm2xx more.

Thanks.
*
if u r talking bout ps51d451, it has the same resolution as the PS51D491... 1366 X 768 native 16:9

btw... y do u think ps51d451 has a native 4:3 aspect ratio????

d491 has 3d function... the 3d function is great but pity it uses active glasses, so its kinda expensive... i hav the ps51d490 and seldom use the 3d function, only use it for gaming.. for watching 3d movies... passive 3dtv ftw (hav 9 passive glasses, so everybody can join);

oh yeah.. for price around rm2.5k and with that size, definitely best tv in the market (for me personally).. picture quality is superb.... astro, normal terrestial channel, hd...

one more thing, if possible do invest in an anti-glare screen.. the reflection for this tv kinda bad

Thanks for the feedback.
Went out to buy the PS51D491 this afternoon and now my SD astro went pixels tongue.gif the face is smudged with square pixels especially the AEC channel.  sweat.gif

Samsung website seems to indicate PS51D451 as 1024x768p. I suppose they're rectangular pixels thus making it 16:9 ratio. I guess that won't make SD material more watch-able?

Btw, did you posted your color calibration/settings in here before? Will try to search for it.
*
thats weird.. cause samsung indicate their PS51D451 as 1024x768, it should be 1366x768. if it PS43D451, yeps... its 1024x768

yep.. u can check in one my thread on the setting,,, its here.. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1825421
if u wanna post some question.. u can do it there as well
