IPS is something like LED backlit. Every manufacturer have their own name for it, basically all the same.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

What do you mean same ? means Panasonic lcd color = samsung ? like that ?

They are 2 different concepts.

60hz refers to vertical scan frequency of a video signal.

30fps is the content frame rate.

Videos are 30fps encoded, films are at 24fps.

So how to identified the lcd can run up to 60fps ? video and films ?

They use frame-doubling to 60fps  for deinterlacing in 60hz progressive scan. But in reality the content is still 30fps.

Most 120hz mid-range LCD have motion interpolation feature that creates new frames to compensate motion blur,  30fps is upscanned to 50-60fps and displayed on 100/120hz refresh rate.

Look for MotionPlus , motionflow and etc...
*
So, normally film content is 24 fps ? and movie 30 fps ? i though all 60fps ?
What about astro ? HD and normal TV1,2,3 channel using antenna ?
sorry newbie here unsure.gif

upconverted during deinterlacing process, they call it pulldown.

60hz Interlace scan video  has 1/2 frame per hz.

60hz progressive can be a 2:3 (24fps) pull down or 2:2 (30fps) pulldown (frame repeats).

So generally they are still 24fps or 30fps.

True 60fps signal comes from gaming console and PC.

If buying a Bluray movie , the content of the movie is still capped at 30fps ??? .
Do you have any article which explain briefly about it ? still confuse . but , can you difference between 24 vs 30 fps on movie ? or 60fps on movie ?

Just wanted to ask a simple thing , having a friend using a sony led tv . I would like to know how to check the model of the sony led tv.
Since he doesn't remember and the manual at the store room moreover the TV is mounted on the wall which I can't get a peak from behind.

Does sony have any special button to check the model on the remote control ?

You no longer can find full HD 1920 x 1080 42" plasma, the likes of panasonic 42U30k or S series.

Entry level plasma 43"  like samsung F4000 is only 852 x 480 defination/ resolution.

For plasma id suggest getting at least 50-51" with full hd  resolution, mid-end to high end models.

1024 x 768  resolution 50" entry level plasma is not great for bluray content, but good for Sd and astro.
For 40" full hd, only lcd led tv is viable.

42U30k still selling ?
I heard people discuss that plasma is more better to the eye compare to LED monitor.Watch 1 hour LED more tired vs 1 hour on Plasma ? .Is it true ?
