Hmmm interesting comparison!

Samsung is a LCD with LED backlight

Dell is a LCD with CCFL backlight

S: 1366 x 768
D: 2560 x 1600

Samsung is a TV hence it has build in speaker (DTS); remote, and other processing features (play movie/picture from USB)

Whereas Dell is a monitor although it has a better resolution

as for viewing movies, I think you really need to test it first, can really comment there. Good luck.

From surveying Sharp LC40LE530M, now i have been impressed with other brand PHILIPS 40PFL6606....

according to the sales person, the quality is the top, some more 6 series is made from Poland :-)
better than LC40LE530M....
Sharp this model cannot beat Philips 6606......

I got the offer RM2100.....

Still considering.......

Philips LED ok tak? Better than SHarp 530M?

I think the LG ones has 3D. PQ not much difference, but LG plasma seems to be brighter than Pana, samsung seems to be the dimmest. You have to view it yourself to see the diff..

Ya lo, after that need to top up gas.  doh.gif

Bro, no such thing la, plasma brightness will begin to dim over a period of time after repeated usage average six hours a day of television equate to 14 years before the plasma's brightness begins to fade to one half of the original level of brightness This process is a slow and gradual one with ranges from 20,000 to 30,000 hours along with the manufacturer estimation of 60,000hrs.

kakakakaa..misleading my engrish word eehhh...nevermind...as long as know the meaning..

40" Sony you can opt for EX520 series which is last year model, price is around RM2000 now. For this year model, you can opt for EX650/EX653, RRP is RM2599, but can get it around RM2200. Both are top end non-3D, smart TV from Sony. Refresh rate is 50Hz but with the processor, it can be boosted up to 100Hz.

If you watch a lot sport like football, the refresh rate still a bit slow for 100Hz.

EX520 u need to purchase seperate WiFI dongle for the smart function pricing at RM199, but for EX650/653 u don't have to get the dongle, as its built in ready.

I'm using EX520, so far no issue at all. Recommended if you prefer a more natural color than extreme vivid color.

I'm not using Samsung, so let others feed you with better information from their experience.

Plasma
Great for movies, not so great for animation. Its gas inside, so if u watch smth with still screen like those logo on the corner of ur tv, u'll later see the logo been burn down on it, but this takes real long time fo be burned in. Projected color is more to NATURAL.

LED
Sounds great, but still using LCD panel. Its liquid inside. Slimmer than plasma. Great projection to watch animation. Projected color is more VIVID.

Tough question. I'll opt for LED tv then, but many still pref plasma still. They have their own market and target of consumers.

guys,

i want to set up a display monitoring set at my workplace.

i will need 4 TV (46" TV set up close side by side) in which all TV connected to a single PC. TV should last for long hour usage (close to 24 hours). Big problem is can't drill the wall as it is only made of thin plywood thus need a proper solid stand. rclxub.gif

do advise what type of TV suitable for this (LED/LCD/Plasma) and where can i get service to install completely as per above.
