as far as i know, the keyboard layout for milestones from germany is qwertz not qwerty. might need some time learning the new layout.
if you do get it later, can you clarify this, and perhaps attached some hands on photos. will really appreciate it.

Anyone updated their Italian set to Hong Kong's 2.0.1?

AFAIK currently Italian 2.0.1 can be rooted, i can confirm this as I've rooted mine.

What i know is that France Build is 2.0.1.15 which cannot be rooted. However Hong Kong & Italy set built is 2.0.1.14 which still can be rooted.

I bought my Motorola Milestone about one and a half week ago at the shop near Subang Parade. Sold it for 2K. My plan was to trade in my Samsung i780, but they offered a very low price so I better kept it. Btw, the Milestone was from PDA Gadgets they sold me.

After using it now for some time, I must say that I feel quite lucky with it. Especially because of the internet integration (gmail/talk/...). A lot better compared to Windows Mobile. Just a lot more userfriendly and working without pain.

I was worried because of GPS. Used iGo on my i780 and it did a great job.

Now I am running two different GPS softwares on my Milestone. First one is NDrive wich is nice and the next was MotoNav. The installed version didn't work at all. Parts were missing on SD, as other complained here as well.

Thanks to the web, I got a full version with latest Malaysia Maps and POIs.  MotoNav is iGo and seems smoother than NDrive.

Was more looking for Pandago, but what I have heard, it just runs on Android 1.5. The maps from MotoNav and NDrive as dated 2009.03 - Pandago with Malsing Maps is probably more accurate.

im still wondering how much battery life you are getting out from the droid, with constant facebook, twitter and other updates over 3g, maybe with moderate web browsing.

Nope we can't flash custom ROM on it with the Milestone because Motorola enforces a signed bootloader. As a result you can only use signed ROMs. Unless someone break that lock or find another exploit... its gonna be impossible. Another possibility is Motorola decides to be the good guy and bless custom ROMs.

By the way, I got my unit yesterday evening! Its a nice phone. However, my browsing experience with the default browser isn't entirely smooth. Its very choppy. Anyone of you have this problem?
