thanks oneeleven, however, if i get Hong Kong set, how do i access Andriod market and how will the payment be charged?
You will need to signed up with Google Checkout. Milestone still don't have access to paid Android apps in Market, only free apps. But you can always root the phone and use Market Enabler. It'll mask your network ID to be one of the North American telcos. There's snatch though. No root yet on 2.1 unless you downgrade recovery firmware. Something I am not sure myself.

Italian set still have no 2.1 update

You can always RSD Lite + SBF a HK/SG/MY firmware and you're back in business. But I am not sure why some people cannot get it to work. The procedures I posted, no good?

I went into bootloader, I can't seem to select anything other than connect my usb cable.
Hmm... I think there's another step after getting into the bootloader with the 'Triangle and Exclamation mark' picture. Do a search.

I heard the speaker for Milestone is much better than Nexus 1 , is that true?
Yes, definitely! Its beautiful on Milestone. Sound reproduction is crystal clear and full bodied. As a result, using speakerphone is a breeze. The frequency response of that device (if you use headphone) is pretty good too. The sound on Nexus One is really 'ki ci lai' sound with breaking sound when volume goes a little higher. That is something I concern will happen for HTC Desire since they both share the same platform.

The price not dropping much vs 5 months ago is good thing since it means the Milestone is keeping value

. I've been using AP set too. All brand new and runs flawlessly and frankly no different from Ori except AP usually come with 2.01 (which can be easily updated now) and may have different country firmware (no problems here because Malaysian firmware does not offer anything special). The current AP price is delicious and Ori price falling like a rock too. Barely a week and already you can get Ori less than 2.1K (see Terry's post).
Now to the question of whether the Milestone is worth it. I certainly think so, and most of the forumers here would agree. On whether you should wait, frankly new tech is always coming out so you would just end up waiting forever. Only you can decide if the current offering is worth the price you're paying.
Having keyboard actually is a pro for me

. I can switch between onscreen and physical keyboard whenever i want.
Milestone Pros
The best resolution screen available hands down currently in market for Android. True effective resolution of 854x480.
Solid build quality.
Responsive multi-touch capacitative screen.
QWERTY Keyboard.
A pretty decent built in speaker
Gorilla Glass screen (oh yea!)
Con
Less Ram, it hasn't impacted me but if you run a lot of programs more RAM always is better.
Locked bootloader - no custom ROMs but most folks won't need this.
If you are comparing against Nex1
We have better effective resolution. N1 AMOLED claims 800x480 but effective resolution is actually 653x392 because of the subpixel arrangement.
Colors - Some people like the Nex1 AMOLED screen because of the more saturated colors, however the Stone actually gives more accurate color representation (for ex. saturation of AMOLED is why some reds look like orange on the Nex1). This is up to your preference of color saturation over color accuracy. Some people just like OLED colors better.
Stone has all the better Pros mentioned above vs Nex1.
Stone has much cheaper price, AP to AP its around RM500-600 difference.
However, Nex1 does have more RAM and processor power.

Overall to me, screen, build quality and price were the most important reasons to get Stone over Nex1. Day to day operation, you won't notice the difference in the processor speed cos the Stone Cortex A8 is quite decent already. Most important to me was to have a good quality phone that would last and Gorilla glass added was definitely a bonus. Also, the screen is what I am staring at most so it was important to get the greater resolution + sharpness and I preferred color accuracy over the more vibrant AMOLED colors. Price was also a deal breaker. Unless the Nex1 price drops or if Google sells straight to Mal, its just not worth getting yet vs available cheaper offerings.
I think the N1's effective resolution is a given due to the way how AMOLED screens are fabricated. If you follow OLED history, you will understand what I'm talking. Blue OLED has always been a problem because their lifespan is shorter. As a result, they had to double the size of blue OLED for some reason. No one knows for sure if size will make up for decreased lifespan. So with this pre-requisite, the pixels has to be re-arranged differently than conventional LCD pixels. The green is now twice as narrow but lined up on a straight line.
End of the day, it depends how you count the pixels. If you use LCD pixel counting technique on an AMOLED screen you get lesser effective pixels. As long as the screen looks great, no one complains (though there are shortcomings in terms of text readability). You know chance of finding dead pixels on an AMOLED screen is higher than conventional LCD?

Hey guys, just got the phone from Brightstar dealer today ! Cheers !
Still exploring as i just got it at 5 pm today and am at work at the moment.
Loving it all right !
Will get the DIGI 58 package to fully utilize the machine.
Has anyone tested the MotoNav?
I think so. Digi's 3GB quota will be just nice. If you exceed it, you pay nothing. Just slower speed which still works. I'm planning to move over too.
