Hello guys... I've been silently following this thread for some time now, and i'm happy to say that I'm joining you guys in a week or so! First thing first, should I go for the 2-yr Dell premium care or the default 1 yr XPS premium warranty is suffice? Is XPS 16 reliable enuf to gv me a stable performance for at least 3 yrs? Money is the issue here and thus I hv to be wise on it. Also, what else should I do once my lappie arrives? Any configs/updates/tweaks to do for optimum performance? BTW, I'm getting the i7 720-M package loaded with the new Win 7. Cant wait!

I dont think they will provide it. Most laptop manufacturers dont bundle the cd with the lappie.

btw, what colour for the xps 16 did u guys go for? I love black, and it was love at first sight, but i went for red since it's not as common as black, and it's a cool and classy colour too.

Are you sure they will replace for 1 dead pixel only? I thought minimum must be 3 or smth like that? This post has been edited by europology: Nov 29 2009, 02:16 AM

Added on November 29, 2009, 6:49 pm2 more Q's...
1. Do we need to take out the batt when we're using adapter? Will the batt continue charging even when it's full? 2. Did you guys find that the sounds from the speakers to be soft?

I'm using i7-720... The processor works well for me, the only prob is the ram. I have 4GB, and I find that the ram consumption is wayyyy greater than Vista! Even during startup, the ram used already reached 30-40%! O.O With Vista, my ram usage barely exceeded 50% even with apps like Photoshop, itunes, browsers opened simultaneously. But with Win7, this will reach 70-80%. There was this one time it warned me of low ram! And bear in mind my previous laptop's ram was only 2GB. Anybody facing the same prob?
