Oh and congrats for ur new SXPS 16 i7!  rclxms.gif
*
Thats why....i know that you could get cheaper if you have the right channel or something....but from low yat itself, that price is a steal man... biggrin.gif
I got it through Dell's website. It took like 2 weeks because of no parts shakehead.gif .
I took the BD drive and 3 years premier service + 3 years complete cover as well.

Power Throttle Issue(AC-Power) on Dell Studio XPS 1645

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=437800

It seems that these ppl get replacement for their AC Power of 90W to 130W. I see dell Msia still selling their SXPS1645(Corei7) with 90W..

Just a warning for future potential buyers.

Thanks for the link...

I noticed from NBR they state the HD4670 as DDR3 smile.gif

**About the Power Throttle Issue**
If dell malaysia say why just give them that link smile.gif
Other Dell have been replacing the 90W to 130W adapter. This only applies to the model 1645 with Core i7 smile.gif

Thanks...will email them regarding this matter...

Guys...

I already receive the feedback regarding the power throttle issue...

"Thank you for contacting Dell Online Technical Support and good day to you!

From your email, I understand that you wish to have a replacement of adapter to a 130W adapter. If I have misunderstood your concern, please do let me know.

For your information, the system is being tested on the 90W and it can cater for the system performance. No doubt that that using a higher power on the system will increase the performance of the system. As of now, your issue has been highlighted to the engineering department for them to check on this matter.

If there is any updates or news regarding the matter, we will get back to you.

I would appreciate it if you could feedback on the outcome of your findings so that I may arrange the next course of action accordingly"...

Mr Alby... Were you aware of the throttled performance before this? I mean, before u read about it on the thread...

cry.gif I'm going to email them as well when i get my lappie. Hopefully more people sending in complaints will make them reconsider the issue.
*
Well, i aware about throttle performance for other dell's model...not XPS 16 (i7)
But knowing Dell, they sure gonna rectify/replace/whatever it sooner or later.. smile.gif

Based on previous history, most probably they gonna update the bios rather than replacing the power adaptor.

On a different note, if you guys think that the power throttling issue is like the end of the world for you, by all means...just dont buy it.
Seriously, its a great product for its price and there are so many fishes in the sea.. wink.gif

I agree with you on this one.
Sometimes there are other related issues with power throttling. Room temp, ambient....etc etc...

dell seriously needs to do something about this.. the sxps 13 and 16 threads in Notebookreview forums are complaining and unsatisfied with this problem.. how would you guys be satisfied? Fight for your rights biggrin.gif

Anyways.. dont go for it if it's already known to be a problematic system.. LoL some people with 130W adapters still cannot solve the throttling problem.. cant imagine dat..

Hours by hours, the posts increases a lot... biggrin.gif
Screw about power throttling, i still cant sync my iphone with itunes !

would it b safe if i use other brand power adapter(130W)
*
At the moment, even by just changing the power adaptor doesnt help...
But if the specs of the power adaptor is the same per se, it should be fine (but i wont risk it though)...

hav u try new bios?
*
my bios is already updated to the new one.
I can only sync my contacts and musics. Other than that, its more like a connection/sync error. I thought it only happen to HP's i7 only. Now it seems happen to me as well.
Already inform Dell regarding this.

May I know anyone here got any problem syncing the XPS16 (i7) with the iphone 3g?
Because I already email Dell and tecnical support guy said that this is the 1st time he encounter this kind of problem.
If the result is the same, I have to wait for any updates from Microsoft and Iphone feedback on this matter because the problem lies with the Windows and the Itunes application.

Maybe its not Intel problem afterall?
