By the time i5 is out, something better will be around the corner. Are you gonna wait for that too then?

You can get it cheaper from Dell's official website.

That will almost be a non-factor once the TRIM command gets utilized with Win 7. Provided it does what they say it can do. But at Dell's prices, I'd rather buy a separate SSD and install it myself.

@loki sxps16 can change processor?
*
I'm not sure if you can change the processor of the SXPS 16, seeing as I haven't actually opened one up before. But chances are, that is indeed a viable option.

but i know our motherboard only support Core 2 Duo...hmmm wondering Core 2 Extreme QX9300 ok or not...
*
They should both use the same socket as they are based on the same Montevina platform. So yes, you can replace your current processor with the quad core extreme variant, even though it'll probably cost you a third of what you originally paid for your laptop.

hurm~
if chnge to 8gb ram oso wasted r?? hmm.gif

For games alone, you will almost never utilize all 4GB of RAM, so 8GB is overkill.

But I like overkill. It makes sure your laptop is as future proof as it can be.

MSI G-series? Almost same price, 17" screen, HD4850 GPU. Better than the SXPS 16.

Every laptop, if you dig around enough, will yield problems. The more people using the higher the chances of negative feedback.

then,
is it ok if i buy sxps 16??? sad.gif
*
That is really up to you, seeing as it is your cash. It offers good performance for its price and is extremely suitable for people looking to get a little more out of their games. Everyday computing capabilities ain't to shabby either. And I absolutely love its RGBLED screen, though you do have to pay a premium price which isn't quite worth it, IMO.

tongue.gif can I use the win7 that comes from dell and install it to my desktop pc?
*
No. It's an OEM version that is tied directly to your laptop's hardware. So unless you get a new activation key, you cant install it anywhere else.

btw,do u think da price of spxs 16 wil kam down abit within dis few days???
*
After having monitored Dell's prices for some time now, I can tell you that the only time Dell offers any substantial discounts on their models is when they have one week promos, which are quite infrequent. Like the Dell Days of Deals which just passed. Even then the most they fluctuate is by 100-200 bucks. So, if you need it urgently, get it now. Else you can keep an eye on their site to net the best possible deal.

Dell Malaysia has very unreliable status updates. If you wanna know the real stage your product is in, call them. The online status doesn't often mirror real world status.

Home Premium is enough for the average user. Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate are generally for businesses or those who run networking servers. For more info, head over to Microsoft

As an upgrade option. In fact, it is the only laptop my admittedly limited knowledge base knows of.

Ya~ If i were u~ I will wait also~ i7 really not worth too buy~ i7 LABEL Stick on yr LAP_TOP nice only~ Only FEW have it ON A LAP_TOP~ laugh.gif

Take Alpine White, apply red lipstick and hey presto! You have a red colored laptop. Sick of the red? Wipe it all off with a tissue paper. Dual color laptop FTW.

On a more serious note, getting the i7 would really depend on the person. For me, i7 is godsend due to the fact many apps I use can take full advantage of its Hyper Threading capabilities.

Yooo... my system using win7 right now...
1problem here... i cant install McAfee the error msg said it not support my OS then need McAfee 9.11 or higher version... any solution....?
*
Please ditch McAfee while you have the opportunity to do so. It is the most intrusive, sluggish and overall irritating AV solution I've had the displeasure of using.

So my suggestion would be to uninstall it completely and get something better such as Microsoft Security Essentials which is totally free and takes up minimal system resources. It's a damn highly rated AV to boot.

I wouldn't use McAfee again even if you paid me. That's how much I detest it. Seriously, MSE is a good AV and worth more than that paid crap.
