most of that are actually common problems for any pc and usually related to software tongue.gif. Not necessarily related to XPS itself. If you look into all the laptop threads in this forum, you will find issues in every one. Personally I never had any issues with bluetooth, webcam. Facial recognition on XPS works great and recognizes me within 2 seconds wink.gif, bluetooth syncs with my SonyE fine and almost no bluescreens (except when that microsoft buggy patch came out, thats MS fault not Dell tongue.gif).

haha... anyway most of us here are pretty happy with our XPS 16.. if you can find a better lappie for this price range with Full HD (beautiful), backlit kb and graphics power then go for it. There is a couple of laptop threads that have good info so you can definitely explore to see other lappies :].

i have no problem with my laptop at all. those problems u mention are software based and not hardware based which cannot solve by updates or other drivers
@Charcoal yea, i love Facial recognition too. 1 of the best feature of dell pc ^^. i always use this function to lanC my sister XD. and also Dell Dock which helps to keep ur desktop clean and tidy ^^

well, it's all up to u...

for me, when i opened the box of my laptop... i ran benchmark, then straight away format, deleted the recovery partition, and repartition the HDD to the way i want...

after that i look for my own drivers on the web, to make sure i ve the latest driver...

and even now, i am also on the look out for new drivers once a mth...

this is how u keep ur hardware at tip top condition, as far as driver is concerned... new drivers would iron out bugs that were found, improve performance or stability or both, and in rare cases, adds new features as well...

at the minimal, ATi releases a new driver every mth...

Hello guys... I've been silently following this thread for some time now, and i'm happy to say that I'm joining you guys in a week or so!

First thing first, should I go for the 2-yr Dell premium care or the default 1 yr XPS premium warranty is suffice? Is XPS 16 reliable enuf to gv me a stable performance for at least 3 yrs? Money is the issue here and thus I hv to be wise on it. smile.gif

Also, what else should I do once my lappie arrives? Any configs/updates/tweaks to do for optimum performance?

BTW, I'm getting the i7 720-M package loaded with the new Win 7. Cant wait!

about the warranty... if u r a gentle user 1 year is enough ^^ i believe sxps 16 can serve u well more than 3 years with it's spec. once ur laptop arrive, download cpu-z and gpu-z to check ur spec as well as ur GPU driver version and also check for dead pixel
