Anyone know if the new Dell Studio XPS 16 supports switchable graphics -- between the core i5 graphics core and the ATi Radeon HD4670? If so, is it dynamic? Or we could select so that it can be either manual or dynamic?
*
iirc, we cant use the i5 graphic core is sxps16...

Just wanna ask SXPS 16 owners

I assume those who keep their lappies at home, remove the battery and use direct current right?

Urghhh...the large gap there between the monitor and the keyboard shakehead.gif A bit ugly if u ask me...what do you all do ? The hole is too big and too noticeable mad.gif

I'm probably gonna find some black cloth cover it sweat.gif
*
yea, the hole is ugly XD and also the way dust get to ur screen and speaker when u close ur lid but since i mostly use it at home, who care??

Hey, is any studio XPS 16 user could tell me hows the temperature and battery usage?
Mind sharing your experience? or maybe any disadvantage? Thanks!
*
temperature?? erm... the air ventilation is not very good coz the screen is blocking it... I love my sxps 16, it's the most powerful computer i ever used. i bought this laptop to replace my ancient desktop lor. performance wise, i would say 1 of the best under 4k category. disadvantage?? as i mention earlier, the air ventilation. the laptop is not too hot for me( this is pretty subjective, i get my training from my compaq V3000).1 more disadvantage is the hole after u remove ur battery. this is the place where the dust mess up with ur laptop especially ur speakers

hey guys im considering the dell studio xps16, i've got a few questions about it though.

1-how's the build quality of the laptop? any problems for you guys?

2-does it run hot when it's not under load? would casual use still get it hot?

3-is dell about to update their graphics card anytime soon? should i wait a little longer before i take the plunge?

4-is it possible to buy their extra warranty later after purchase?

5-are there any promotions coming up from dell? is the RM200 rebate when we use maybank still available?

that's it for now, thanks. =)
*
1. goood!!!!! i accidentally pour hot green tea on my laptop but it still run like charm ^^
2. at least is cool for me. i tried run CPU and GPU fully load (both run at 100%). cpu temp around 70'C while gpu around 75'C
3. cant answer u, ask dell
4. yes, u can do so but it's more expensive
5. dont know, ask dell also

this thread going to V3 soon ^^ so any1 gonna takes Onyx_black's place??
