hi. i'm getting a k50 with the athlon ql65 cpu and 2 gb of ram. i'm considering buying another 2 gb ram stick. could anyone tell me where the ram slots are located? behind the backpanel or under the keyboard? thanks

can anyone tell me the brand of the ram in the k40/50 laptops and their timings? if my lappy arrives today i'll have to think about which ram to get so they'll match. any suggestions? where i am i can choose from sycron, kingmax, kingston and others . . .

could you use cpu-z or something to tell me the timings, pls? if it's cl5 (5-5-5-15 or 18) or cl6 (6-6-6-something)? i don't want to buy something that won't work. regards

thanks for the fast reply 8tvt. i see that you bought kingston 800ddr2 for you lappy. are they cl5 or cl6? sorry for insisting so much. or it doesn't matter because they run on 667 and not 800mhz?

i don't have it yet. i waited 2 weeks for k50ab-sx029l. it's the one with the turion ultra zm84, but it still didn't come so i changed my order to the one with athlon ql65 and it may arrive today hopefully this one has only 2 gb of ram so i was considering to upgrade to 4 from the start but i may wait a bit before upgrading. i can't wait. i'm gonna call the shop soon to see if it's in

Hi guys It's been some time since I last read this topic, but I've tried to follow it closely. Has anyone here tried to use a sdhc memory card with the k50ab integrated card reader? On the asus site it says it only supports sd/mmc/ms but not sdhc so I'm curious if it works or not. I'm planning to buy a digital camera with an 16 gig sdhc card which I also want to use to move files between my laptop and desktop pc. worst case i'll buy an usb card reader, but it's not the same
