Dear all,

Im planning to buy a laptop with a budget not more then Rm2K. K40AB seems interesting. A dedicated gcard is a plus point ere.

After reading a few pages, i understand a few things

1) It ran hotter after a while unlike the ones dat comes with C2Duo proc. Battery usage less then 2 hours. lots of potential in OC.

Question: this AMD Proc is equivalent to what huh? (Pentium) is it a normal thing it ran hotter then intel proc? how do u guys feel with the ventilation and heat dissipation for this laptop? With dedicated gcard which i assume definitely run alot hotter....

My concern ere is the lifespan of this laptop... yes its maybe cheap but at least can last for 2-3 years without problem is good enough. My last Acer survived for 6 years +. Comes with dedicated graphic too. ATI 9700 mobility i think. Now the fan for Gcard already cacat, display always hang and bla bla bla.... so dat survived for quite sumtimes but am abit skeptical with AMD.

Used to own AMD machines. Yes they have this heat issues since forever afaik.

Sorry guys. Im old and quite lost with current technology. Typing now with Netbook. Super suffering... need to buy a laptop quick.

Everyones opinion is highly appreciated

2)

tired to trouble shoot this lappy .. asus K series Sucks tomolo have to back lowyat there check .... they say k series is a cheap version for asus brand... never trust cheap version type ..

end user problem or soft/hardware problem? dont make urself like a fool tomorrow..

i dont think rm2k is cheap for a laptop. I think this laptop comes with great price:performance ratio.

next time do you research first before deciding to buy a lappy. You may google or yahoo first bout this laptop or ask around in lowyat.net.

for your earlier post, i'd say,

1) BSOD happens when the software and hardware is conflict. patching it with updates usually solve the problem. I dont use any antivirus but i have 3rd party FW installed.

2) you better off with vista or win7.... theres alot of user here that are happy with k40ab...im one of them rclxms.gif

3) I trust my understanding/judgement over products that im about to purchase

4) U give up easily tongue.gif

peace with 1 love blush.gif
