Ramp it up until your system hang/crash/artifacts, then lower it by 5-10MHz from that clock

bro Najmods
my k40ab cant even reach the range which u put 700-730mhz.. i only capable 690mhz with 585mhz.. after then that occur artifact.. how come all ur oc range i cant reach? cry.gif cry.gif

bro GothFebrio
i installed from 2gb ram to 4 gb ram the increment in vista score quite obvious from 4.9-5.9.. so izzit true that 32bit vista OS dosent fully utilize all 4gb ram even though the vista score increase? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

this laptop sure got a lot potential when only cost rm2k, i endup buying it coz saw review in lowyat.net, if no i oredy buy acer 4series with hd3200 gpu which hd4570 far more superior to compare, coz the seller really want me to buy the acer brand but at the last minit to pay, i saw asus k40ab, the seller never knew it has 2 gpu n others good point.. what a luck, thank God... thumbs up for asus k40ab icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

amad...

different hardware is different is terms of quality... so  ur mileage will vary...

ppl can oc kaw kaw doesn't mean u can do the same... afterall, they re not designed to run at higher speed anyway...

hehe.. that maybe just right bro.. in term curiosity that's why i try to o.c, but it's really improve a lot when i o.c... coz najmods set the range for o.c, never thought i cant reach the range, but it's da same product/hardware (asus k40ab) or izzit k50ab hv got more potential? hmm.gif hmm.gif

nvrmind, we just share knowledge here.. really glade read about k40/50ab here.. thanks to all sifu's here notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

32bit OS doesnt even support 4GB. it support Max 3GB. but theres another downside i mentioned. 32 bit OS has Limit of RAM for applications/games, they can only use 2GB Max of RAM even if u have 3GB/4GB(3GB on 32 bit)

64 bit OS support more than 3GB, 4GB example. and do not hv 2GB barrier on applications. so application/game can use up to 4GB of RAM.

Added on October 22, 2009, 12:26 pmususally memory clock which caused artifacts.

owh.. ic, thanks bro.. so i need to stay with current memory clock n increase the gpu clock.. hv try it already, yes can reach 730mhz w/o any prob.. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

u can increase memory clock too. but maybe less than 600. for example my Asus F81Se can go only up to 756 core and 535 memory.

thanks bro.. u really help me a lot.. thanks to all lowyat forumer too notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

It has been discussed on V1, you missed it. I even have 'tried' 4GHz, even the BIOS detect 4GHz but the truth is it only run 2.1GHz

in 14' version, there is a big diff between using hd3200 n hd4570 in batt life consuming.. vista, hd3200 = 2 hours n 20min (around that, power saving max with wifi on), hd4570 = only manage 1 hour 40+min (also power saving max with wifi on)...
i'm alwyz using it w/o batt when travel, i use it until it giving warning sign... then straight connect the power..

Hey, one good news about my problem with vmware. I found 2.03 bios (asus k40 one didnt wanna flash), and flashed it, and now i can start vmware and install new os. The only problem is that this is the first released bios for this notebook, so it miss some things and fixes from latter version. I will try to contact Asus and ask them about a new bios based on 203, with all fixes included in 220 and 222.
