most coaxial cables....i guess they are near-75 ohms...

this means that you can use them interchangeably between audio and video....i'm currently using that cheap red-black-yellow set rca cable as my component input between my dvdp and lcd tv...(of course the colours must match lah) ...it shoud work fine...don't see any colour degradation - but i'm no videophile...so i'm not fussy. Actually thought of using this as a temporary solution - but it's been 6 months now...nobody ever complaints about any colour defect whatsoever.

if you look closely at component cables and rca cables, they look similar...i can't really tell the difference other than the colour and the thickness of the cables,

and i also use one relatively cheap pasar road yellow rca cable as my digital coaxial cable to get 5.1 audio from my dvdp to av receiver coaxial in...also works like a charm! havent tried clothes hangar though tongue.gif

remember coaxial is just the type of cable - coz of the rounded shape or something...not sure how to explain. Google and u'll get more info on this.

so to me, personally i think all these coloured combos are just marketing hypes to make us buy unnecessary stuff...been using all these cheapo stuff for years, no problems so far... touchwood. But if you have the dough and can buy monsters - by all mean go for those!

have fun exploring!
