SiriuslyCold,
While we are on these subjects, what is ur take on the following:
1. Green LEDs in CD Players for sound improvement
2. Some CD player makers have what the call static improvement devices that are supposed to improve sound by eliminating static due to rotation of CDs in the transports?
3. Use of certain types of woods that seem to alter accoustics in a room?
for me the general rule is this: as long as you can afford it, it sounds better to you, and you want to use it, by all means go ahead. Even if it sounds silly to other people, the ultimate aim is your enjoyment of your own system. I/People may laugh at you for using a clever little clock, or intelligent pebbles, but why should you care?
as for #3. Use of certain types of woods that seem to alter acoustics - I believe room treatment is as important as other components in a system - in order of decreasing importance (to me)

room treatments
amp = source
cables
Note that this does not include placing certain blocks of wood randomly in the room and hoping it will magically improve things

but bass traps and acoustic panels are useful and more often than not, necessary.
