Some intro on the project, explanation why Malaysia need Formula PROTON 1Malaysia
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) As we know, Formula One (F1) is the pinnacle, #1 racing motorsports and also #1 race engineering as been set by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) which is the top governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring organisations.
2) Malaysia must prepare and ready to face the real world of very advance of racing motorsports engineering including F1, Formula PROTON 1Malaysia is one of the way how to achieve a very great advance engineering with the supports of many race teams, sponsors and also industry engineering related.
3) BMW from Germany who is a very big automotive manufacturer in automotive industry, who always win the best international engine awards have their own race event called Formula BMW which is divided to Formula BMW Europe and Formula BMW Asia, although they pulled out from F1, it is not because of global financial crisis or other matters, it is just they didn’t agree with certain regulation in F1 which is not at their side who want toto create a new hybrid technology called "EfficientDynamics".. Among the best way to test and improve its best engineering is through motorsports and BMW can test it in their own Formula BMW, they have alternative to Formula One to achieve their mission and goal.. This is something Malaysia and PROTON must think for the benefit of Malaysia engineering future, not to depend so much on Formula One (F1) projects to be the leader in automotive industry.
4) In France where the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Head Quarter is located, a French company RENAULT which his legendary CEO Carlos Ghosn had save NISSAN company from a big bankrupt although NISSAN engine had won so many Ward's 10 Best Engines from year 1995 to 2008, nobody dare to buy the NISSAN company shares as it had debt of USD20 billion and only 3 of its 48 models were generating a profit. But RENAULT CEO Carlos Ghosn dare to take the big risks and amazingly in one year of RENAULT take over of NISSAN company in Japan, Nissan's net profit climbed to USD2.7 billion from a loss of USD6.1 billion in the previous year!!!
5) Among the action that Carlos Ghosn as CEO of RENAULT and also CEO of NISSAN company is to make Formula RENAULT and also World Series by Renault to test the best engineering of RENAULT and NISSAN technology in the racing motorsports event, and then transfer the knowledge and the experience from racing motorsports to a real car name NISSAN GT-R 35, amazingly it receive many awards such as Top Gear : Supercar of the Year 2007, Automobile Magazine - 2009 Automobile of the Year, 2009 International Car of the Year, Popular Mechanics - Automotive Excellence Awards 2008 (Design), World Performance Car 2009
6) Something that BMW and RENAULT had done should be a big inspiration to PROTON as Malaysian proud to improve the engineering, branding, and sales market around the world and also PROTON+LOTUS can share the engineering expertise just RENAULT+NISSAN just did to produce a more greater outcome than NISSAN GT-R, plus can make own rules and regulation just like BMW did to their Formula BMW to achieve the company target!
7) While in Japan, where they catch-up so fast with the European engineering marvelous and already beaten USA in breakthrough technology of automotive engineering products. The Japanese create their own formula called FORMULA NIPPON as one way to achieve their dream target to be one of the most important car manufacturers country in engineering world.
8) Almost whole part of Europe have own FORMULA 3 racing events that look like F1 cars, that’s one of the reason why European very good in engineering knowledge.
9) Even in Australia which is not a world car manufacturers also have FORMULA 3 and also FORMULA 3, and also many other racing motorsports event such as V8 Supercars championship as it is also generate many profit and money for the organizers, under good management and good marketing strategy so many Australian very interested to watch all that racing motorsports event. Australia also have one F1 driver, thanks a lot to heavy exposure to racing motorsports in Australia.
10)We believe Formula PROTON 1Malaysia can also do as well as all those countries had done, plus PROTON can also create a great branding synonym with racing motorsports that require a high speed machine, with highest safety, highest standard handling system. In F1 racing events for example, Malaysia generates more than RM1 BILLION of economy revenue each years thanks to a very great advertising, live-broadcast, super fanatics blogs, addictive forums, rumors, wide newspapers coverage and knowledgeable TV commentators.

Formula PROTON 1Malaysia

S-W-O-T style analysis on current Malaysia racing motorsports development

S factor (Strength)
----------------------
1) In A1GP where it stated as World Cup of Motorsport Malaysia is in ranking #5 in year 2009 above countries like Germany, Britain, Italy and USA which had involved in racing motorsports for a very long time already, these countries have a very good engineering success in their automotive industry but when it put into same A1GP machine which have same engine, Malaysia had proven as a great team.. Malaysia can defeat them!
2) Malaysia have a very good track, the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) regarded as the most challenging track in this world! SIC was designed by the world leading circuit engineer called Hermann Tilke and also consulted by former F1 legend Michael Schumacher, both are from Germany.
3) Malaysia also have a long involved experience in various type of racing motorsports like F1, SUPER GT, MotoGP, Formula Nippon, Formula 3 Japan, Super Taikyu Endurance Race.. Most of them is through PETRONAS MOTORSPORTS.
4) Malaysia also have many champions and leaders like
Jazeman Jaafar (Formula BMW Asia Champion year 2001, he is also the youngest champion in Formula BMW Asia history at just 14 years old!)
Alex Yoong (Malaysia First F1 racer in year 2001)
Fairuz Fauzy (Malaysia A1GP racer, he had beaten F1 legend track record in Britain in year 2008 just by using A1GP race car! He also set the fastest lap record in Nurburgring, the legendary Germany track which have regarded as “Green Hell”, this is the track where almost all the best supercars manufacturers in the world test their supercar prototype!
Tengku Djan Ley (#5 best drifter in this world, he already beaten USA drift champion)
Karamjit Singh (Malaysia Asia Pacific Rally Champion in year 2001)
Fariqe Hairuman (Asian Touring Car Champion in year 2007, he also win so many races in Japan Super Taikyu Championship)
5) Malaysia also have world class racing motorsports home team like
- Meritus Racing Team : which had win the BMW Asia championship in year 2007 with Malaysia Jazeman Jaafar, and also successfully develop F1 drivers like Narain Karthikeyan (India) and Takuma Sato (Japan) for their F1 career.
- MOFAZRacing : which now compete in Formula Renault Europe with Malaysian Fairuz Fauzy had managed to set many fastest lap in the european races!
7) Malaysia also have win the Best Team Identity Award for FORMULA ONE in SCHOOLS 2009, this competition is an international competition for school children (aged 11–18), in which groups of 3 - 6 children have to design and manufacture a miniature "car" out of balsa wood using CAD/CAM design tools. It is a very good exposures to children to be the best aerodynamics area world class engineer.

W factor (Weakness)
---------------------
1)Malaysia very well known to have a very bad attitude habit, among the very bad habits are :
- not accurate in time
- always blame everything, but no good proposal on how to overcome the matters
- corruption : Malaysia is #7 most corrupted nation in whole Asia based on Corruption Perception Index (CPI)
2) Very slow and problem internet connection, based on the research done, Malaysia internet is among the worst in the world below the needs of today needs. Something must be done quickly as when Formula PROTON 1Malaysia want to expand it’s operation worldwide especially to Norfolk, England where the PROTON subcompany LOTUS HQ are, we need a very fast and accurate information sharing to guarantee Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will be a great success.
3) Technological weakness : Malaysia technology in automotive is still very far away from other developed countries which produce cars especially Germany, Italy, France and Japan.

O factor (Opportunity)
---------------------------------
1) Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will turn Malaysia into real engineering superpower in this world as it will gather all the data, statics, graph, analysis, reports from all the team that involve in this projects.. Proposed style of networking to gather the data is using the new technology that currently used in modern military operation : NETWORK CENTRIC style of communication to assure the full success of this formula.
2) Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will also used to transfer the technology to current Malaysia industry, as the Composites Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM) and other industrial partners will also involve in this project, Malaysia as #1 users of robotics in industry cannot depend so much on exports, Formula PROTON 1Malaysia also aim to reduce the costs of realizing to make many Malaysia made robots, this formula will be use as a medium as it also involve a lot of mechanical and hydraulic research.
4) Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will help a lot of branding efforts and marketing exposure to the whole world as what Formula BMW and Formula RENAULT just did in Europe, the strong marketing strategy, TV rights, magazine, blogs, forums and newspapers will help a lot to make people around the world know what is Formula PROTON 1Malaysia.
Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will fully utilized the advance wind tunnel which purposely build for 1Malaysia F1 Team projects, it also can ensure the successfulness of Malaysia F1 projects as the F1 and Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will share the data and all statistics to give advantage to both projects.
5) Malaysia have Jean Todt (the legendary Ferrari F1 boss which have great success in F1 with the legendary Michael Schumacher) who already promised to help Malaysia automotive industry and also Dany Bahar who is currently is LOTUS CEO (a subsidiary of PROTON company), he have a wide experience in Ferrari and Red Bull F1 projects, another name to mention is Dr Wolfgang Karl Eppel. Dr. Epple was previously serving in BMW AG as Vice President of Quality Management R&D and also the project leader of BMW E90 3-Series., he is currently PROTON Director of Quality.. This 3 foreigners that Malaysia hire which have wide experience in F1 and good engineering can offers help to make Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will be a great success to turn Malaysia into engineering superpower.
6) Formula PROTON 1Malaysia also will attract many racing motorsports fans around the world, it will help a lot in boost tourism and Malaysia economy as so many racing fans in this world like to watch racing cars that look like F1 in action.
7) Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will give a lot of benefits to the sponsors, especially in promoting Malaysian products to the local Malaysian customers and also international customers, this Formula PROTON 1Malaysia will stated all the sponsors related to this project to the related medias like official websites, official forums, official blogs, official magazine, official TV shows and also in news conference.

T factor (Threat)
---------------------
1) Possible low attendance because so many races like F1, Super GT, Formula BMW Asia, A1GP.. The local audience especially may choose what they want to watch.. Among the measures to overcome this threat is to make a very strong marketing strategy which will influence them to support the Formula PROTON 1Malaysia project.
2) Possible of not enough sponsors for this Formula PROTON 1Malaysia,.. To overcome this, the strong marketing team will be form that will be tasks to explain the possible sponsors in details and what this Formula PROTON 1Malaysia can offer them.
3) Possible of not enough TV broadcasting rights which will weak the marketing strategy to make the branding effort for PROTON to be successful.. To overcome this, the strong marketing team will be form that will be tasks to explain the TV broadcasters in details and what this Formula PROTON 1Malaysia and how the ratings of the TV viewers will increase from time to time.

Great enthusiasm. You should submit your cv to the Lotus f1 team if you're not with them already. Would just like to clarify some of the points you listed above, not to undermine but just to inform so you know better..

1) Malaysia finished 6th in A1GP championship season 4 (2008/09). Their best ever championship finish was 5th in season 1 (2005/06). Best EVER Malaysian race team at that motorsport level in my view! Only F1 is the next higher level. In season 4 they were the no1 Asian team, finally beating NZL. You are right, they have also beaten the 'giants' like Britain, USA, France etc..

4) Not to take the credit away from Fairuz Fauzy but him beating the Donington track lap record in 2008 during testing, driving A1 Team Malaysia car was because Senna's lap record was set in 1993 and nothing much happened between then and 2008 at Donington. Race cars today are much quicker now then in 1993 anyway. Fairuz Fauzy was officially the first to break Senna's record but 2 or 3 other drivers did the same that day testing for their respective A1 Teams.

As for Nurburgring, single seater races like modern F1 and Fairuz's World Series by Renault are held at the southern circuit which is just over 5km long. Supercar testing etc are done at the longer, northern loop called 'Nordschleife'. The 'Green Hell' term was coined by 3 time F1 champion Sir Jackie Stewart in reference to the entire Nurburgring loop where F1 used to race in his days. It was 22km long with 187 turns and was very dangerous. F1 stopped racing at the full circuit after Niki Lauda almost died there in 1976.

Malaysia currently has 4 single seater outfits. Meritus, A1 Team Malaysia, Mofaz Racing and now 1MLotusf1. A1TM has the most number of Malaysians in the team and arguably have employed the best Malaysians in the country. Meritus have some Malaysian mechanics in the FBMW team, MofazRacing is new and has next to nil right now. The 1MLotusF1 team will have many Malaysians involved and will probably lure them from all the other existing teams.
