15 eggs...wow....
But pretty sure u take the 'better' eggs lah after all the egg videos etc at the bodybuilding thread. heheh.

But overall you do have to spend quite a bit more on the diet compared to non-bodybuilders. But heck maybe it balances out cuz u don't spend on fast foods etc.
I'm still in the process of losing some weight so haven't applied the 'eat more to build more' advice yet. But still have been eating a higher protein diet this past 2 months.

Oh Joey, the problem is most people don't eat moderately and it actually takes some effort to eat intelligently. smile.gif

No, I don't care. My friend owns a poultry farm in Melaka and I've seen how it barely makes a difference whether organic eggs or not. I'd rather spend my money buying books about strength training or fitness and maybe some about nutrition.

I love it when people like you talk. When you don't know anything about what we do for a living and how we have to dedicate our lives to what we love. Just coming into a forum, talking loud and strong about how people are doing something and having results, and you say it's exaggerating. If you're here to diss my efforts, our the collective efforts of other people to achieve their goals, you're in the wrong place.

So piss off asshole.

Eggs have cholesterol. But it should be noted that ingested cholesterol and those created by the body are different. And their effect of the body and health are different too. I'll let some other intelligent soul explain more on this.

Your point being?

"Eating eggs does not significantly raise the body’s cholesterol levels, according to a new study conducted by researchers from the University of Surrey and published in the Nutrition Bulletin of the British Heart Foundation.

The researchers reviewed the results of several different studies on eggs and nutrition, concluding that eggs did not contribute significantly to the body’s cholesterol levels. Although eggs are in fact a high-cholesterol food, the researchers note that only one-third of the body’s cholesterol comes from dietary sources; the rest is produced by the body from saturated fats. As a consequence, saturated fat intake plays a far more significant role.

“The ingrained misconception linking egg consumption to high blood cholesterol and heart disease must be corrected,” researcher Bruce Griffin said. “The amount of saturated fat in our diet exerts an effect on blood cholesterol that is several times greater than the relatively small amounts of dietary cholesterol.”

The researchers note that other factors, such as obesity, a sedentary lifestyle or smoking also have greater effects on cholesterol levels or the risk of cardiovascular disease than egg consumption does."

But there's a note of caution from the few articles that i read.
IF you are actually in the high risk category, you must still try to limit your intake.
From the study above 1/3 of the bodies cholesterol comes from the diet so it still does contribute only not as significantly as previously thought.

But 1 thing i don't really get, pizzaboy, there's countless evidence that natural eggs are much more healthier than commercial ones and you being strict about diet and stuff just shrugs it off with "I don't care".

It is the inflammation of the coronary artery that caused heart attack, not cholesterol.

I've done research papers and there's one small trick that all researchers know that will skew the results or one detail that'll make wrong, right and right, wrong. People who have done research, don't trust research completely because of this.

And I drink coke for breakfast and eat nonsense all day long. What in the world made you think I was serious about diet?

As long the yolk is taken in moderation, I wouldn't worry about it.

I take about 3-4 eggs/week. (plus yolk)

Instead I'd focus more on my saturated fat intake. Like the article that pedro posted above, saturated fat has more dangerous effects on our cholesterol level than the egg's cholesterol.

ah interesting. And here I was thinking that bodybuilders need to have strict diets and all.
Anyways, you've done research papers? Interesting.
You're in the academic line?
Curious to know how old you are exactly.

Hehe reminds me of myself. Before i was into bodybuilding, i was like 'them'. Ignorant and prejudice of bodybuilders. Its funny how scientifically detailed bodybuilding is compared to what the general population think. Suffice to say, most true bodybuilders are professional dieters. (Course, im not hinting that i am though)

Nope. I'm in the fitness industry. But after university, I don't know why but I brought along an interest in research and so I do it. Or rather I do it with my supervisor ex-lecturer. He presents it. I just do it for fun.
