yeah i just got my unit. the pinkish spot does appear on my hd2, and my ROM number is the newer one (1.48.707.2)

realized that the lighting does contribute to the pink discoloration. when there's adequate light, its not noticeable. hopefully it is a software issue like HTC announced, coz if it's hardware, its gonna be a hassle getting it fixed.

here's a sample pic of a white background

but other than that, it's a really awesome device. the integration between htc sense and things like email, twitter and facebook is really cool, and seems to be working very well. Opera has been acting up a bit, but on the whole the internet browsing experience is good. Now, if only the camera issue was fixed...

I've been using the HD2 for a week now, and my verdict is that it's a great phone to have. tried using my ipod nano today and was so not used to the tiny screen lolz...

anwy wanted to share 1 or 2 issues i had with the phone:

a) Lack of rotating functions in program screens
I was trying to get Garmin XT to rotate to landscape, as i feel it is a more natural view. Tried bunch of apps, but the one that worked for me was gyrator
and BSB tweaks. i would recommend BSB tweaks as it gives u complete control over ur settings and other hidden features. There's also performance and
power management options, and u can practically auto-rotate/pinch to zoom most screens(except perhaps, manila lol). go check it out at xda forums.
(also it is an easy way to get the hidden camera modes and wifi-N, with just a click smile.gif )

b) It drains power like crazy!
Yes, i read abt the power drain b4 i bought the unit, but i always thought it was manageable. WRONG! i barely got 5 hrs of use out of it daily, b4 it dies
on me. So frustrating! So i decided to go for a power management app hunt, and stumbled across WMlonglife. in my opinion, this is a must have for HD2
users as it seems to have helped with power saving so far. will do a proper time test to see if it works. Anyone has any tips on power savings? Please do
share.

Anyone have any other complaints/ issues with their phone?

yes, I do understand that technology is moving at a very rapid pace nowadays and it is impossible to keep up. But unlike iphones which has a new model each year, winmos have like, I dunno, 50 new phones in a year? How can I be sure that they won't suddenly launch a hd3 a couple months down the road which supports winmo7 then rendering winmo 6.5 obsolete? If the hd3 (if there is) comes out a year later, then at least there was a years lifespan. Imagine if one were to take easy payment for the hd2 and a replacement comes out in like 4 months? They'd be jumping out of their pants!

well the HTC roadmap for 2010 has been leaked. Check out the following link

http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/06/htcs-20...inpage_engadget

looks like the direction HTC is taking is to make their phones available to a wider market (read: lower price) range. The only phone which looks like it can challenge the hd2 is the htc bravo, which is an android running on the snapdragon i DO like the sound of that, but who knows WHEN in the year the phone will be released lol.

Looks like the HD2 is gonna be in the forefront for awhile, and plus it's gonna support windows 7, so looks like your best bet for now
