SSPL wont mess up any thing in ur rom since it is only a software SPL, it will retain all the ori SPL (rom ver when u do a 3 color screen)
which is diff then HSPL where it will change the SPL .... SSPL is easier to do since it is only involved the sw layer

... in a nutshell

still thinking of cooking my own rom .... but still no free time

of course it can ... pls check the lock of ur sd card

go to "Settings>Menu>All Settings>Personal>Phone>Keypad" and select drop-down to Off.

Try to sync your music via windows media player but not copy
directly to your memory card.

Not sure it helps or not but by doing that I solved the exact
same problem that you face. 

Just connect your phone to your computer, synchronize I mean.

Then,

turn on the windows media player,

at the right hand side of the wmplayer,
it will ask you to add device,  and will ask you to drag songs
there to sync to device.

Drag any songs that you like and press start sync.

That's it 
And the alternative is not to put every songs in one folder,
I mean, create folders manually in this format:

artist / album / songs

i got it from PDA Expert.. but i dunno what brand is it.. it has a sandy feeling on the protector if u know what i mean.. i think u can head to any outlet to get it.. i got mine from Mid Valley...

i too recommend that u get 1 from PDA Expert.. to be specific, head to Mid Valley PDA Expert and look for a guy called Ah Boy.. he is the supervisor there and he provides good service and u can ask him any question regarding WinMo.. hope this helps

how much is the screen protector...?

if bought separately.. i think it is not RM20 only.. go and ask them and see
