OK, some of you have been asking me who this ******* Ivan is, for those who doesn't know, this is the story
April this year, this man who called him self Ivan Lee became my friends, Adeline and Victoria's housemate in Melaka. He seems to be a very nice person and as a travelling magazine writer, his working hour is flexible. He then teaches Adeline and Victoria to buy and sell second hand laptop online for extra income. He claim that he has been doing it and the profit is quite good. Adeline and Victoria being very naive (ok, maybe a bit too trusting) believed him and started buying second hand laptops online. They bought about 8 laptops and leave it to him to upgrade before selling it online. He then ran away with the 8 laptops and Adeline's DSLR camera when they were at work. From the day he moved in and he left, it's only one month time. The total lost of Adeline and Victoria is about RM10k and they did lodge a police report with the number TENGKERA/002135/09. I've met this 'Ivan' once when i visited Adeline and Victoria in Melaka, and i took a picture of him. (I think he didn't realise his picture was taken).
About 5 months later, on 9th October 2009, Friday at about 6.45pm, i went to dinner with my sister and a friend in Taman Paramount. Once i sit down in the restaurant, I notice that this 'Ivan' is sitting at the table next to mine and my sister recognised him from the picture i took as well. I immediately call Adeline and Victoria to asked them what i should do, but no one knows what i should do or what i can do. But I can't just let him go off like that. So, i decided to at least warm the lady that is having dinner with him.
After seeing him asking for the bill for the meal, i went to sit down at his table with my sister and asked him:"Are you still called Ivan?" he says no and i started to 'remind' him on what he had done to my friends and his friend look shocked. And of course he denied everything and said we got the wrong person. He then suggested that we we go to the nearest police station to settle this. We, not expecting this, agreed. He asked his friend to leave first and he told us there's a police station at walking distance and suggested we go there. I followed him, and my sister following us, being very alert, quickly asked a uncle if there's any police station nearby and the uncle says no. He then says there's a pondok polis just down the road, my sister checked again and got to know that he's lying. He then said he can take our car to the nearest police station at SS2, but we refused to. Then we agreed to take a cab to SS2.
While walking to get a cab, he says he wants to make a phone call but he left his phone with his friend and wanted to borrow ours. We refuse to borrow him and asked him to call at the police station later. But he insisted to call before going to the police station so we asked him to use the public phone. He then call his friend (we don't think he's calling anyone, just faking it). after that, he says that his friend will come and fetch us to the police station. We of course refuse to, but he insist to wait for his friend at a hawker centre. While he was calling, we had already got the report number from Victoria and we get my sister's friend to call the police. We asked him to go meet the police at the petrol station just opposite the road and he says no, coz his friend is coming. he then get nervous and says:"No, i don't trust you two" (which doesn't make sence at all) and started walking towards opposite direction. I followed him and he walked even faster. I keep following him but he walked faster and faster into the housing area (which was quite dark) and i lost him. By that time, the police is actually there in the area but they can't locate us as we are moving all around Taman Paramount. The police then tell us that we should call the police once we saw him coz if i talked to him like i did, he's alert and will find ways to escape for sure.
Telling you the story is not to show you how brave or whatever i was (althought a lot commented that i was very daring), but it is to let you know that, next time if you meet something like this, CALL THE POLICE AT ONCE! If we call the police at once without letting him know that we recognise him, he's probably caught and what needed to be done, can be done.
That's all about this ******* Ivan. I hope you 'enjoy' reading it and i hope these won't happen to you.
Regards
