Yesterday morning change the LCD. Reason changing because left part of the old screen does not response to touch.

Run perfect and better response, equivalent to my Omnia 2. It took me 1 hour to replace together with guide from youtube and manual. All function works perfect, sms, call, camera, internet surfing.

Bought from Ebay, USD0.01 plus shipping USD5.29. 2 weeks to arrive.

If your screen is broken and you have the passion (and second phone back-up), I highly encourage to change it by your self. By the way, I am only a finance clerk and not an engineer.

But there are a lot of cases in the net that their phone is not working after replacing. Do it carefully.

Multiple times I'm planning to change the LCD but looking at the manual, I know there's a lot of work to do. Don't hold your breath, I've got lots of question following up:

1. By any chance, do you use static cloth etc during the installation? Really afraid will damage all of the sensitive electronics.

2. Your own tools or buy specific tools from ebay?

3. OEM LCD screen or not?

4. Any chance we can change to capacitive instead? (I highly doubt it so)

5. Can pm me the ebay seller's name?
*
Hope I can help.

1. Nope. Just make sure don’t touch ANY electronic component. I hold at the edge only.

2. 3 tools we need. One comes with the parts (as in the video, the blue one). Second precision philips screwdriver. I bough it at Lowyat, Sri Computer (31 in one and use the smallest screwdriver. Cost about RM14). Enter the shop, left, down compartment, together with usb card reader etc. Third is my nail.

3. I don’t know. Because it is so cheap, I just bought it. Less then 20 buck converted.

4. Sorry, I don’t know.

5. This is link. Hope mod will not delete it. Not promoting, just for sharing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...:EOIBSA:US:1123

What can I conclude; we need 50% help from the youtube/manual, 45% of common sense and 5% of luck when doing it.

(don’t know to embedded the video in Lowyat forum, sorry)

Good Luck rclxms.gif

But to avoid any problem, maybe you can check lelong, seems the price is around RM50++.

But this ebay confirmation for my winning…(hope the picture appear).
