Hi guys.
I'm looking forward to own this phone, but before that I had search for some owner reviews from google and the below link is what I found. http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/samsung-omnia-i900.htm some of the users said that this phone is having serious problem in texting (sms), the screen is not responsive, reboot and laggy. Reviewed by Lance from England on 8th Sep 2008 However, I'm giving it one star as I just spent more than five minutes trying to scroll down to read a text and it kept zooming in. does any omnian here face the problem mentioned above? thanks. |

QUOTE(lun073 @ Jan 14 2010, 04:25 PM) Hi guys. As you can see that review is 2 years back, (approx.) the firmware might be outdated and such, that the screen might be unresponsive. I currently am using this phone, with many custom ROMS used, and to my experience, most of them are VERY responsive.I'm looking forward to own this phone, but before that I had search for some owner reviews from google and the below link is what I found. http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/samsung-omnia-i900.htm some of the users said that this phone is having serious problem in texting (sms), the screen is not responsive, reboot and laggy. Reviewed by Lance from England on 8th Sep 2008 However, I'm giving it one star as I just spent more than five minutes trying to scroll down to read a text and it kept zooming in. does any omnian here face the problem mentioned above? thanks. The newest rom.. DZIA5 from samsung too is responsive, but do not expect iPhone's touchability because the iPhone uses a capacitive type screen, that responds to heat signals from your finger. You could google more for that screen, the omnia and most winmo phones uses the resistive type touchscreen which enables you to use almost ANYTHING to touch the screen. I've even used my car keys to scroll through the menus. The screen is responsive if you use your hand, and in my opinion, more responsive to some HTC phones. The messaging problem occurs to me in my older rom, a new set of roms would resolve that problem. Even my new rom doesnt have that problem , all smooth sailing. The zooming in part is because he scrolled to the right part of the screen, which has an autozoom (of some sort) feature that is incorporated in almost all of the programs. So far, its been a great phone , which has a great camera for a winmo, good touchability and big storage (mine is a 16gb) If you can, try to test the thing first. The operating system/ ROMs could be customized to your needs, in your home |

Heck, if you bought ANY phone based on its resale value, you shouldnt have bought a phone in the first place.currently use sector last rom that, one word..lame. There are many roms you could use, any that's the only thing you could've said? My, how igenorant you made yourself sound. For the bricked omnia, you could try to reflash the phone back to the original rom, give it a go. Usually bricked phones are hard to revive. Micro, you could check the settings again in the first page, try to go through the steps. I've been using many roms and I've encountered your problem, a resetting of the settings worked the mms again. |

Are you saying you doesn't know that we can use our fingers instead of fingernail? This is resistive screen, pressure based. you can use generally anything to register a touch on the screen. And I don't think samsung offers capacitive screen for replacement of omnia's one if that what you meant.
There is some on the net for higher mAh battery. check around. except that they are not standard one though.so use on your own risk. GPS lock depend on varying factors. for example, the longer you didn't activate your GPS, the longer it will take to lock due to the satelittes up there move much further from the last time you activated the GPS. If you move further from the last location known by the GPS will give you the same effect as well. Frequent update on XTRA will give you faster lock. After all, if U happen to use GPS on the road, U're not suppose to talk / msg. on the phone while driving <Tsk, tsk, tsk....
Except in the plane, I'm pretty clueless why would anyone use the FM even in the light of saving the juices. As the primary function is a phone, why would you turn it off? When I use GPS it's clear that I'm looking for some unknown place. Hence the need to make a call now and then IN CASE the map failed me. As such I have never turn off the line. p/s: use bluetooth earphone while driving la bro Added on January 19, 2010, 12:02 pm
omg...samsung phone no value on the market one...i hear my said that.i guess is true...im regret to buy samsung liao...nx time wont buy this brand>< currently use sector last rom that, one word..lame.
I bought omnia because of the features that this phone has. Not too exaggerating to say the most complete package of phone during the launch time. Where can you get a phone with internal memory up to 8GB/16GB, with Divx supported, true GPS, video call, 5MP camera (in fact if not mistaken the first ever PDA with 5MP + ALL of the camera function), 624 MHz processor, which is only Asus processor surpassed during that time. And ah all of the long list of specs that you should have already know. In fact, the specs that omnia holds right now still one of top of the line. Even I have an iPhone, I will never let go of this baby. This post has been edited by mmmbop: Jan 19 2010, 12:02 PM |
