does anybody know how to or perhaps the complete guide to install offline Google Maps (specifically Kuala Lumpur maps) on tube?

Hurm. For me, i juz use Zune Video Converter (links and complete instruction on the first page). It never fail me. All the converted video play smoothly.

of course Google maps didn't provide offline data. but recently, Google had release a tools used to cache the maps, and using the advantage, there's forumers out there produce the offline maps based on the cache maps. Of course it involve other software to make the google maps able to view it offlinely, but since i couldnt find the complete steps, thats y i'm asked bout it over here.

anybody can help me out?

one simple question. If I upgrade my firmware, do all the apps and my data that i stored inside the phone will be gone? juz answer either yes or no.

agreed! so far i'm really2 satisfied using my tube. Its quite fast (128MB ram ), the GPS can easily locked (coz i'm using A-GPS), sound is superb, watching movie is crystal clear, and totally value for money coz its complete package (GPS, wifi, touchscreen, accelerometer,etc).

but this is my personal opinion. different person hav different point of view. How bout u test the device at any Nokia Center, then if u feel u like it, juz grab it.

yeah, there's another forum which discuss on how to improve the 5800 camera quality which is eventually it can be improved, a lot! The forumer said whenever he snap a picture without the backcover of the phone, the picture quality become great. So by that, he conclude that the plastic that used to cover the camera lens is the things that make the quality of the pictures worse.

so, there're few other forumers on that forum is trying to get rid the plastic that cover the lens and replace it with glass. but i don't know how far the progress go currently.

did u guys know how to setup the connection which make it always connect to wifi for browsing? coz sometimes when the wifi signal is low, then it'll automatically connect to 3g connection, which can cost me a bomb.

any info will are much appreciated.

is it normal for my tube where the stylus is kinda untight? its so untight like when ever i take out my tube from the pouch, the stylus also will retract from its original places.

ic. its normal then. I seldomly use the stylus, but dunno how bout the previous owner. I bought it second-hand unit coz the latest one have lack on some specs like TV output, no casing, etc.

but so far, i'm really satisfied with my tube and i think i'm gonna stick with it for quite sometime.

the responsive of the key when u're smsing/typing is really2 great.

i love both alphanumeric and full qwerty. But i'm more favor towards alphanumeric keypad coz lazy to use both hand when SMSing. While for surfing, i prefer to use full qwerty.

huh? i'm easily can typed using full qwerty, but after a day of practice to get used to it for finding a proper way to press it so that it detect the correct key that I typed. I guess my finger is a bit smaller than yours.

IINM, the latest version of 5800 doesn't have TV-output capabilities coz it seems Nokia save that feature for more high end phone.

Do a hardreset. But make sure u backup ur phone (Menu--> Apps --> File Mgr --> Backup).

After that u do a hardreset. Switch off ur phone. THen switch on back with pressong red+green+camera button together until the Shakehand logo come out. If the phone asked for Password, by default it should be 12345.

p/s: it happen to me b4, but not bcoz of the update, its bcoz of the stupid theme. =_= after hardreset, everything back to normal. Even all the games and apps from memory card still there, without need for me to reinstall again.

already apply my cert and key, but the software for signer said : Signing Unsuccesful.

or, can somebody plz sign it for me? can the sign process be done by other person?

err. There's tons of 3rd party applications out there that not develop by nokia. Thus, the phone isn't allowed the application to be installed. The application that unrecognised by the phone called : unsigned, which obviously doesn't have a trust certificate from nokia.

in order to install the unsingned apps, first we need to sign it on our own.

err. i already have one.

I already did it. I do have Signer software, and also my cert and keys. But when I try to sign the unsigned apps, i don't know why it says: signing unsuccessful.
