I am considering this phone. Can any user here share some experience about this phone.
1) Is it slow? Does it hang a lot?
2) How goos is the camera and video?
3) Is the gps fast?
4) How is the sound quality?
5) Is it really value for our money?

Thanks. smile.gif

Added on October 16, 2009, 2:39 pmSorry, i mean good not goos. My bad.

1) It's pretty fast. Doesn't hangs much...except if you use Garmin and try to multitask. Other apps ok.
2) Camera is below average. Video is good enough with 30 fps. Very smooth. Better than my digicam.
3) GPS is great. No need to use A-GPS. Lock in 2-3 minutes.
4) Great.
5) Unbeatable.

I notice lately after so long. When i turn on garmin it takes like lucky 30sec for a cold start to lock to gps without assist-gps.

Sometimes it takes like 2mins without a-gps. Previous it takes like forever to lock even get annoy until i turn on a-gps.

Anyone having such experience or is it i am paranoid?

Firmware V31
Garmin 5.05

It works anytime. As long as u are going thru the road with green signal

I think i mentioned this before. The GPS lock in 5800 is really good, 2 to 3 minutes is the usual lock on time with NO A-GPS. Been using it a lot. Went to Banting eat 'Beggar Chicken', up Sg Siput, Ipoh, Seremban etc. Works great. Except sucks battery very fast due to heavy usage. That's why i got a spare battery ready for outstation trips. smile.gif

Why use stylus to surf net? Fingers works best. I never ever use stylus. Stylus is only for Winmobile phones. biggrin.gif

Anyone have problem with the latest firmware V31...101??

My GPS seems very hard to do locking without A-GPS after the update....but i haven't do a hard reset yet...

But this morning, my phone hangs at the NOKIA screen after reboot...nothing works, take out battery also cannot coz once u restart, it'll go back to nokia screen and hangs.

So i have to do a hard restart this morning...luckily i have a backup 2 months ago...can get back most of my contacts.

Needs to try out the GPS again after the hard reset....Sigh...i hope it works....it used to be able to lock under 3 minutes with previous V31 firmware.

Highlight the desired access point, click on 'Options'->Delete.

another solution would be to monitor all your softwares to "always ask" mode. that way you can still retain your 3G/edge/gprs bla2 settings.

yes you can alwez get them back by doing a pre-write back through the settings wizard, but i did experienced where my data settings can't work after a deleting and doing back the settings wizard.

in the end i had to call celcom to get back all the settings ~

Yep, i agreed. Just set it to 'Always ask'. You'll need some data connection once in a while...like A-GPS. furthermore, if you are unsure of it's using WIFI or 3G/GPRS/EDGE, just switch to the 'Connection Manager' and monitor the list of connections. If you see a 3G connection is created, then u know u are accessiong via 3G.
