Went to pay TNB bill yesterday and too sad that Amex is not accepted...!!!

Amex should think of a way to improve its acceptance in Malaysia.

Btw, I still feel Amex is more elegant (physical look) than other CC despite of it's poor acceptance...

Just called AMEX CS again, this time a guy told me my application was pending bank credit proof on 3 months salary..  sweat.gif  He said can either email or fax over, but when I check my Public Bank it only shows 2 months transactions history..  shakehead.gif  Can scan and email them PB bank mini statement instead? Else I have to go back find my bank book, go to bank update it then only fax to 03-22820373... sad.gif

From my case, I didn't include any proof of income. I just copied them my current credit card and that's it. I told them if you need more documents other than that, then just help me to withdraw my application. The reason is very simple, if I can do so for my other CC application, then why not Amex CC?

But, I can did that because I'm sure they should be comfortable with my history... Also, this doesn't always working as well. Last time, Southern Bank (now, become CIMB) had rejected my CC application (i don't know why) and I told myself that I wouldn't apply any CC from Southern Bank anymore... blink.gif

thinking of signing up Express AutoPay with my Amex CC... however, I dun know if anybody having any issue with Amex before.

What I'm worry:
1. Amex line down when the service provider credit our account... It happened to my Visa (Alliance Bank Visa) before for my Digi postpaid and it ended up need to use manual credit by Digi and I almost lost my RM10 monthly rebate scheme (as it's on RM5 rebate now and only those signed up long time ago will continue enjoy RM10). Luckily, Digi managed to recover that for me... I don't hope to see similar issue again so I dare not to change to Amex

2. How long does the enrollment takes? If it takes too long, then possibly TNB will cut my electricity...

I called Amex and found out that I have to settle ALL outstanding bills with DiGi before the Express Autopay could take effect. Out of the blue, Amex did not inform me this before I took initiative to call them up.

Just finished reading the T&C, it does mentioned that the Express Autopay will not cover those balance before the effective date, T & C #4.

Ya, i do understand that they will be replacement before the current card expire. The problem concerned is that, during every event of card replacement, there will be change of card number, and i have to reregister my autopayment to my new card number.. it will be a hassle for me..
*
As far as I know, you will get the same card number for the renewal card (which expired)... the number will be changed if you get a replacement card due to stolen or security breach (which mean you current number or account is at security risk which couldn't be used anymore).

So far, I just need to update all the autopayment about my new expiry date only... account # will be the same...

just came back from the curve, was shopping at metrojaya when go to counter they say today amex got problem. in the end have to use cash. mad.gif

Base on my experience, sometime it's due to their machine problem and they tend to blame amex instead. I used my amex few weeks ago and it failed on the first attempt. The cashier then used another terminal and everything just went fine. See, it's their tactic and keep on blaming amex...

HOWEVER, i think amex should do something to make it more popular in malaysia... otherwise, i could stop using it also next year due to our "smart" government policy.

When u'r not famous then people will tend to blame u (amex) coz the perception is there!
