This problem is not unique to Malaysia. Even in United States, the country where American Express came from has the exact same problem. But then AMEX is no VISA nor Mastercard. AMEX is aiming mainly at the upper middle class and above people with high disposable income and AMEX is accepted mostly at big corporations only such as those high-end private label stores in KLCC and Pavillion.
I do agree with you to certain extent, that Amex at times, targets different market segment. However, with the introduction of free-for-life gold cc which requires low income eligibility of RM36k per annum, Amex has the ambitious to foray into the mass market. Therefore, Amex should reduce its fee on merchants in order to encourage more merchants to participate in its programme. Otherwise, it could be a turnoff to the mass market.Added on October 14, 2009, 3:27 pm

In fact, I only used 1 form to fill in information of 3 TNB accounts. The number of 3rd TNB account was written manually. All the 3 TNB accounts have been approved with Express Autopay last week.Besides that, I inquired Amex CS officer and was informed that Express Autopay for my TM and DiGi accounts has also been approved. However, I did not receive any official notification from Amex or the respective agencies.
