Don't think it was as much to do with experience as it was to do with class. The unfortunate things for the Germans this time round was that their strength just to happens to be Spains as well. They were both set up pretty much the same. Xavi and Ozil played behind the front men. Podolski and Iniesta played similar roles as did Trochowski and Pedro. Schweinsteiger was the link between both halves of the pitch as was Alonso. Both Khedira and Busquets sat back most of the time.

Muller has had a good World Cup no doubt but I don't think he's the sole reason Germany lost. If you ask me, Spain are just that good. Few teams if any can match them if they are on song. The only question this morning was whether or not they were going to get their passing game going and they did. When playing teams who are comfortable on the ball, you have the option of either defending really deep or pressing their players each time they have possession, forcing them into a mistake. The thing about the Spanish is that players like Xavi and Iniesta don't need a whole lot of time on the ball, and even if they don't have options, they are good enough on the ball to keep possession.
