I was thinking to play movies (mkv) from my PC which is about 15 meters away from my TV.

I want to connect PC -> HDMI -> TV about 15 meters distance.

Is it possible to buy a HDMI cable that long? Is there going be problem with quality of video and sound?

Where can I buy and roughly how much?

Extracted from http://www.monstercable.com/hdmi/the_facts_on_hdmi.asp

HDMI™ Over Long Lengths

Consumers want to save space and hang their new high definition flatscreen TV on the wall. They also want to hide their gear for a clean, sophisticated look.". Of course, that means running longer HDMI™ cables in wall.

It’s now not uncommon to find video components located 25, 50, and even 75 feet away from a TV. This means that data-intensive high definition video and audio must be transmitted over very long distances.

Unfortunately, HDMI™ cables were never designed for this purpose, and performance over long lengths is not specified in the HDMI™ standard. Therefore, highly advanced cable designs are required to meet the performance specifications of HDMI 1.3a, Category 2 and beyond over long lengths

you can try (in this situation at 15mtrs, quality cables come to play)

anyway, if there is problem you will know it, white flashes, sparklies in video, weird audio sound.. very abrupt artifacts

(it won't be slightly blur video, slight color run off or softer audio degradation etc, like traditional analog audio/video connection)

and

http://www.hdmi.org/consumer/how_to_connect.aspx

you might need a booster or active cable

10m only.

I used the 15m for my HD65 during the SVS event. Not a single problem. Less than RM200, nothing to complain.

biggrin.gif no worries, was only joking..

for 4mtr type, just good basic type sufficient.. anyway most of the cable also made by same supplier Copartner or check the UL marking (printed on the jacket of the cable)
