under Application manager > settings> Software installation > Set to all

Online Certificate Check > set to OFF

just playing around with this phone...gonna install some unsigned apps without the certs

yeah i agree with some...I dont have to use Media Go to transfer the files, although i did use it once to see where the files where transferred to so that i know where i can put them without using it,

now im not using Media Go just transfer as Mass Storage to directly to the folder, sadly both of the games i downloaded from the SE Entertainment Asia Portal is still locked, managed to download it but im still waiting for an activation SMS, called SE Malaysia but no action from them , when i launch it it states that its been launched code 100,

worth or not worth id still not comment since i barely had the time to properly test the phone, work load has been a killer but i intend to put through its paces this weekend, from what ive used it still has bugs here and there but it something expected from a company who's releasing a phone with a software totally alien to them, with a few firmware updates im sure Satio will be up there


GPS- Good, its pretty accurate, just that you need to know how to install it (Garmin)

Camera - Absolutely Great

Sound - Get a good headset, you'll be set coz the quality of output from the speakers is kinda low

Ill be posting a proper feedback next week, battery life is ok for me..lasts for 1.5-2 days (calls,sms and some photos here and there)

yes finally managed to get configure my Satio, just to the way i like it im leaving my emails out it...the last thing i want is my emails on my phone...

had sometime to play around, ill just post some PROS and CONS from my experience of using this phone so far

CONS:

Auto-Rotatee -has a mind of its own, it just take a slight tilt for it to rotate
Phone doenst turnoff like what you expect - , not sure about the model for the others but my when i turn if off, it goes blank then immediately flashes the Symbian Main Menu page where you have the icons for the Logs , Messages, Contacts for 3 seconds before it turns itself off
Battery Life - I seem to charge it every day, probably because i use it heavily
Inadaquate Flash - so in poor lighting condition it tends to suffer abit



PROS
Fast - Its fast for a Symbian..heck it loads up damn fast too, mine takes 30 secs from cold powerup to making calls
Lightweight- For its size this thing is light and you barely notice that its inside your pocket
Camera - great photos during daylight
Wow Factor classic look on their faces when they see the 12.1 sign at the back


managed to install a few apps on it...its working but generally i think if anything that is going to put you from buying this phone its the software, still has teething issues with Symbian and SE ..for example, the Garmin app will request to be launched intermittently everytime disconnect it after i transfer something to the phone, havent tried it without Garmin though, but if youre willing to overlook that and indeed it does have it own fair share of bugs (which new product hasnt?) this is a fantastic phone to use...

hoping that SE will have a proper firmware to fix all this negligible issues in the near future

same issue mate... but yeah not too bothered about it

here's a way for you to get your Cert for your Satio to sign those unsigned apps , i got mine by doing this but havent tried to sign apps yet..

oh use the english version...easier to read

PCsuite is in the memory card..read the manual that came with the box! it should tell you how to install it

Guys i just found out that SE is going to release a new fw update for the Satio

ETA that i heard is in 3 weeks time, this is in the Europe region

but from what i read online those ppl in thailand can already update their phones thru SE Service Centers would that mean that we can update our sets as well? since we are located in the same region as Thailand,

interesting, will post more news, and on a side note Aino fw updates has been released on the 26th

ok just checked through SE update service, no new firmware released for Satio yet

yeah, i do agree that the sound output of the Satio could do better honestly, the battery again only lasts me a day, my phone only hang once me twice but since then it has been going like a charm,the default themes wise yeah man it pretty plain and boring! but heck ive downloaded themes and wallpapers to bling up my phone, now it hanging low~ lol...


and as like someone mentioned here its not only the Satio infact any device that you buy the "fun" factor only last till until up to a point where you started to get used to the device,

i mean how hard can it be not to get excited over a new device rite? I think as for the comparison between Satio and the other phones, in the end its what you want to buy, if you think that it makes you satisfied by getting a 3GS or Pixon then by all means go ahead and get it, its your hard worked money, i feel that its not fair to put this phone down by claiming it buggy and slow and stuff, it deserves a fair crack of the whip, Nokia built N-Series on Symbian, Samsung got a headstart on SE by releasing the Innov8 on Symbian therefore they had the chance to identify the quirks and bugs of OS while working on their hardware, im no fanboy but yes ill rather use any phones than Nokia, ive been using SE for quite sometime and might as well i stick with them. I wouldnt have been satisfied any bit by getting something else..it was this or bust

Yes it has bugs and other niggling problems but really the only issue hardware wise i can see by SE is the battery, boo to 1000MAH! most of the reported problems online are with the OS itself, and im sure that these issue's will be sooner or later will be fixed by SE with their firmware updates..

Im looking to sell this phone as well, why? im gonna get the X3 so any interested parties please let me know phone is absolutely scratchless, and it comes together with a Mirror SP and Epikcase which ive ordered with AskarPerang

Press the power button then the menu should pop out, scroll down to bottom select remove memory card

are you using WI-FI Carol? if yes then its normal...coz even in normal laptops it overheats if you use wifi

any nice theme recommendation?

with the new firmware the Satio is much much faster...but they havent tested the standby theme yet,,its in youtube the video of some guys testing the new fw

looks like the new firmware is out for our region, I havent updated it yet, but based on your comments i think im gonna refrain from updating to the latest firmware, and wait for the proper one that SE "claims" will be releasing in 2 weeks time

and as for your firmware bug findings as well as others here what i can say...its quite long so please bear with me..

i tried accessing the telco menu using *100# yup it only beeps before it pops up doesnt come up with the message tone, so yeah that does look like a bug..and im not on the new firmware so cant comments on the duplicating of the contacts

I had the same issue with the game downloads and the movie downloads, had to call SE Customer Service to get them to resend me the activation SMS for the downloaded stuffs, the number should be on the Entertainment Passport booklet, or alternatively you can log a case on the SE website

funny how you have issues with the themes with the old and the new firmware, Ive tried using all the standby themes (finger use, basic, full page and navigation bar) all works fine for me, as for the shortcut missing on the main menu after changing themes that you mentioned i think thats only for the Sony Ericsson theme specific and itll not be carried over to the other themes like finger use or basic as they would have they own unique shortcuts, and yeah the options button is available there and when i press it works fine no issues, phone doesnt restart and asks to change back to SE theme..

I noticed that rayzrblade has a Bordeaux Satio with no themes problems..Carol what color is your phone? i know it might be ridiculous to say that the color might affect the settings of the phone,

but ive read in certain sites that it does affect in a way..in a way that is..im using a Bordeaux Red Satio which doesnt have theme problem..what about you Darkmage? i think you use a Red Satio as well rite? any theme issues?

and as for the dictionary problem try to do a hard reset on the phone by pressing *#7370# and see if that fixes the problems? seems like some guys did it according to the forums is Esato and it worked for them, probably it might work for you? but remember to backup your phone as it restores it to factory default settings

did you restart the phone after the update? and probably you might wana try soft resetting the phone *#7870# if still issues then hard reset it y *#7370# backup first before doing ok?

my phone is quite fast as it is...ive seen the youtube vids of how fast the new fw works and to me it does look the same speedwise...

the bugs that i can report on my phone is related to the auto-rotate function!! damn thing always auto-rotates at the slightest tilts on the phone! had to turn off the functions as it really irks me,

another bug is with the slider lock function, where there is a noticeable lag from pushing down the slider to lock the phone to the phone actually locking, mine is about 2 secs, its not always but its very intermittent, does the new firmware solve both of the issues? please do let me know guys

Please dont get me wrong im not claiming that my set is better than yours but these are just my findings, and i really dont seem to encounter the issue's that you guys face when i try to simulate your issue's on my phone but please share if you guys do find any bugs so that we can test it out on our respective sets, if anyone is from Penang then please let me know so that we can meet up and give the Satio new firmware and the old firmware a right proper shakedown

as ive mentioned earlier im passing on this firmware update, as i worry i might just introduce newer bugs rather than fixing it and wait if there is going to be another proper release of firmware by SE...why fix it when its not broke?

if the hard reset didnt work, probably you might want to try the repair function in the Sony Ericsson PC Suite first, sayang la send to SE to repair

and yes as for the proper SE firmware, i got unconfirmed report that the firmware that SE releasing is going to be the proper one with alot of functions probably with lower batt consumption

this new fw is just to fix the bugs something like a stop gap firmware,

you install PC suite ready? just connect it via the USB cable and select PC Suite on the phone and launch the PC suite software on the PC ..its under TOOLS > PHONE REPAIR

update service is just to update the phone...since you already update to the latest fw i dont think it would make any diff, probably just give some time and re-try back the phone repair...


as for me curiosity kills the cat...ive updated my firmware as well
