Wait a minute... Acer website says you will get an upgrade disc and also a Windows 7 OS disc..

Acer Windows 7 upgrade FAQ

What is included in the Windows® 7 upgrade kit?
You will receive an Upgrade Wizard disc with necessary drivers and applications and a Windows® 7 Operating System DVD. The disks will be in a case with a manual and the Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

This means we can upgrade from Vista or do a clean installation. Furthermore with the Windows 7 OS disc, we can also re-install in the future, should we want to have a fresh system.

Can anyone confirm this?

Your credit card will be charged SGD 20.21 only when the upgrade kit is shipped. The price shown is inclusive of shipping charges.

All orders received will be collected and held for processing until the Windows 7 release date (currently estimated for October 2009 but is subjected to change). Orders will be processed in the order they were received. You will receive another notification when the order is shipped.

The Revo, like most other Atom based systems, will inadvertantly be slow due mainly to its CPU limitations. However if your "needs" are not for gaming, it should be alright. The biggest plus for Atom based systems is their low energy consumption compared to other mainstream CPUs flex.gif

Slowness or sensitivity of the mouse can be adjusted via the control panel

All current systems packaged with Vista will defintely see some improvement if replaced with Windows 7. The latter is "lighter" and is not as resource hungry compared to Vista

there are few types of slow.. or lag..

try gud ol pentium 4 2-2.4GHz on windows ... the lag is horrible.. doubt you can fix that with control panel.. biggrin.gif
(and also atom 1.6GHZ is like a P4 2GHZ processing power)

Zotac News

Product details

A new nettop from Zotac... perfect for HTPC. Compared to the Aspire Revo:
1. Have SPIDF optical port.
2. No OS.
3. Slightly bigger dimensions.
4. The rest almost the same.

So, when available in Malaysia and how much? Anyone knows?
*
So, is it available in Malaysia now?
Look neat and comparable to ACER REVO.

Perhaps if really need minor gaming, perhaps I can venture on setting own mini-ITX.
Seems like Acer Revo cant into gaming at all.

Atom based systems are not meant for serious gaming purposes.

Light gaming is fine and also for internent surfing and as a media entertainment center works fine though.
