This is only possible when you do it over the counter. Your ATM card can withdraw a maximum of RM5000 only in a day. For online third party transfer (meaning to other people's account but within the same bank) and IBG (transfer to other bank), you can transfer out a maximum of RM5000 only.

my method: use a mix of debit card and cash collected from atm machine.
both carries a limit of 5k,so u can get 10k in one day..
OR
go atm take 5k + transfer to another fren a/c and ask him to take out the remaining amount.

are u sure both cash withdrawal and debit card fund transfer can work for the amount exceeded 5k? will the problem like after cash withdrawal of rm500 be made, debit card transaction is not allowed.... have u ever tried the "mix" method as u said?

since you already know in advance, withdraw rm4000 + rm4000 in the span of 2 days.

it is risky to hold such a great amount of cash in hand, if i were to withdraw twice... i just wish to know whether the "mix" method is going to work, and i think this is the best solution from all of the suggestions provided so far.

The only thing u can do is withdraw over the counter OR ask them to issue you a banker's cheque.

The easiest way is still do the hassle of withdrawing over the counter.

I don't know what's the issue here.

1. You can withdraw ANY amount over the counter if it's your maintaining branch, or

2. Withdraw maximum of RM5,000 over the counter at any Maybank branch and withdraw maximum of RM3,000 from any ATM.

I have withdrawn RM40,000 using the 2nd way over a few days, so I don't see any problem with RM8,000.

Case closed.

only way to do it by 1 day is thru the counter. no other choice.

unless you may try to ask if you can adjust the limit over the amount that you can withdraw from ATM machine per day. I not sure if you can set the limit up to 8K.

Does the maximum withdrawal limit over the counter at non-account holding branch for Maybank still in effect ? Because i thought they have done away with it and we can now withdraw as much as we like at any Maybank branches nationwide.

As far as i know, Public Bank still have the maximum withdrawal limit policy in place for cash withdrawal over the counter at non-account holding branch which is at RM10,000 per account per day. Pretty sure Maybank has removed this policy for its Kawanku Savings Account.

No way ! you can't do that. Just like the Citibank Citibanking VISA Debit Card (blue color), you can only withdraw and spend a maximum of RM5000 a day using your card.

i think TS has Maybank account, and if not mistaken, Maybank ATM is not 24 hours right? I'm not so sure about that.

A Debit Card has imposed limits? I thought its only limited by the money you actually have in your account.

Can't remember seeing anything about daily limits when I signed up for my PBB Electron. I better go and have another look.

PBVE is different, as it is not linked to any of your bank accounts held with Public Bank. With PBVE, you are allowed to use whatever amount you have inside your PBVE. Just have to remember that a minimum of RM25 must be kept inside your PBVE at all times.

Well, I'm not very sure about Maybank though because seldom use them now. If they have done away with the limit, then all the better for TS as he can withdraw full amount in a day.

I'm only with Public Bank now. Have cancelled my relationship with CIMB also.

Seriously ? One can really charge a maximum of RM5000 into his/her Maybank Cherry VISA debit card and then withdraw another RM5000 from the ATM ?

Wouldn't be a problem for him to withdraw RM1 million if he does it over the counter at his account holding branch.

Anyway, in regards to withdrawing your money over the counter at any non-account holding branch, the maximum withdrawal limit imposed per account per day is as follow. Please note that every banks have different maximum withdrawal limit. Refer below.

Public Bank
- No over the counter cash withdrawal service charge done at non-account holding branch
- Maximum withdrawal over the counter at non-account holding branch is RM10,000 per account per day
- Unlimited over the counter withdrawal made at home branch
Attached Image

CIMB Bank
- No over the counter cash withdrawal service charge done at non-account holding branch
- Maximum withdrawal over the counter at non-account holding branch is RM50,000 per account per day
- Unlimited over the counter withdrawal made at home branch

Maybank just replied my query. See below.

Maybank
- No over the counter cash withdrawal service charge done at non-account holding branch
- Maximum withdrawal over the counter at non-account holding branch is RM25,000 per account per day
- Unlimited over the counter withdrawal made at home branch
Attached Image

So the inter-branch maximum withdrawal per day per account for the three largest banks in Malaysia is as follows.
Maybank > RM25,000
CIMB Bank > RM50,000
Public Bank > RM10,000
