It depends on your definition of 'lag'. If you want a silky smooth connection like playing LAN/offline games, then just stick with Cyber Cafes and split-screens.
That being said, playing games on Xbox Live depends on the games you play. So far, I don't have any problem playing Halo 3, CoD 4, Team Fortress 2 (the best multiplayer game ever!!), FIFA series, GTA4, Gears of War 2, and many more. I do have lag issues when playing Forza 2 though. That's because the server sucks ass. I hope they resolve the issue in Forza 3. Games like Guitar Hero will never lag. 'Cause seriously, how CAN it lag? Other than that, if your Streamyx, Jaring, P1, or whatever it is is having gastric, then blame it on the sucky internet providers we have here. A maximum of 5 account per console.Apparently i face problems even connecting to singapore, i heavily depends on tmnut assigning what ip to u. for me Jap and US servers latency is the same with me (min 288ms, max 387ms). I dont really face lagspike or dc that often but i do notice my action take 1/2 sec to respond. Anyway try playing more on sing servers or local friends. |

QUOTE(papermun @ Oct 8 2009, 06:31 PM) Am having a hard time deciding what consoles to buy here. Good for you. And dont worry, its not too bad..i know ff 13 will come to 360 but important game to me is kingdom hearts 3 on ps3. but i think i will buy a 360 first.i have a feeling XBLA is gonna bring alot of my favourite games. For me, its different.. you see, my bandwidth is very wide with download speeds of 13Mbps and more. More than often I get appointed as the host, especially in CoD4. When I do, I get full green bar and everyone else gets a red or yellow bar. In my history of playign CoD4 on Xbox LIVE, I have only met ONE Malaysian. Lol, its was funny, only 2 guys had green bars and the other Japanese/Australian/Chinese/W.C.U.S.A dudes get yellow bars. Even if yorue not the host, I recommend you play at the right time of day..for example, play from 6 to 9pm, lots of Japanese players are online. Thats the ONLY time youre gonna get a yellow bar if your broadband speed is slow. Otherwise, its lag mania. |

if you're a casual gamer, the latency won't bug you much tho you will have an occasional 'wth! i fired him 1st!' moments....
and if you're looking for a fighting game with good online play, get BlazBlue |
