QUOTE(wlcling @ Jan 7 2011, 06:48 PM) ... anyway on monday you may want to try buy ottomarine at 0.360... in fact i have already set my queue to buy now. (if dow tonight lau sai, then i withdraw lo) otto marine looks ok, but dont mind if it has a dip. i will be selling my all genting to buy otto. not that i lost faith but i think its moving too slow (potential to hit 2.50 by end of month though which is 15% upside.) however i have set my eyes on wee hur which potentially looks interesting at >20% upside as usual caveat emptor! not too sure about genting. wee hur sounds like have to wait a while before it moves - so, can wait. expecting a correction on sti later this month. |

QUOTE(wlcling @ Jan 17 2011, 03:37 PM) cut all my sunmart at a loss today... u have been lucky.sunmart postpones proposed dual listing on kosdaq. its risky these days to buy those counters that announce listings on another board. you don't know whether they may actually proceed with it. |

SINGAPORE, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Singapore Exchange , Asia's second-largest listed bourse operator, said on Friday it will delay the start of continuous trading to the second quarter of this year to ensure all market participants are ready.
SGX had originally planned to scrap its 12:30 to 2:00 pm lunch break from March 1 to let trading hours in Singapore overlap more with those of key centres like Tokyo, China and India. "The start of continuous trading of securities will bring Singapore in line with developed international markets at a time of increasing globalisation and competition," SGX said in a statement. The bourse operator added that continuous trading will also remove the risks investors face when they are unable to act during the gap in the trading day. |

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Jul 4 2012, 10:30 PM) For example, you buy Singapore stocks, do you get charged in Singapore brokerage as well? Like I know people trading foreign stocks, they will be charged both side....Malaysia and Singapore. didnt they say they were linking up sgx with bursa? didnt they say it was to be ready in june? they mentioned in their announcement that with the link-up you need to pay only 1 side. |

QUOTE(activez @ Jul 18 2012, 04:40 PM) I am also keen on doing this. Opening Singapore savings account to invest in Singapore shares. what are the 'corporate actions' that you may miss out? However my remisier is advising me against opening Singapore CDS account. He mentioned that I may miss out on 'corporate actions'. you can open 2 a/c's and use the respective a/c for trading on each side. Added on July 22, 2012, 11:19 pm QUOTE(bizklguy @ Jul 20 2012, 11:34 AM) Hmm.. I suspect the sovereignty sensitivity might come into play: given the strong SGD$ and with >16% of their household with >USD1m investable wealth, our neighbour could become substaintial equity investors over time. on 1 hand, with more liquidity, the prices will go up.on the other hand, many singaporeans have lost a lot of money during clob's time and they are still angry and bitter about it. it depends on which hand is stronger.
