Been a while since im active in this phone section. Okay.. Afaik, asian countries have a law that mobile phones with cameras must produce shutter sound and beam light when recording. Dont ask me why...but this can be overcomed with changing the firmware to EURO firmwares or firmwares of other select countries.
1. With some selected countries/EURO firmware you can turn off the sound/disable it either by switching to SILENT mode or turning it off in the camera options.
2. For users who wants to have chinese language, this is a problem because euro firmwares do not have chinese language installed in them.
3. You need to change the product code to EURO (confirmed) or other countries (u need to confirm that it will turn the cam sound off). After that u update the firmware. Done.
This applies to most if not all N series and most probably with the E series & other nokia symbian phones as well.

What im reading on this thread is worrying.. i can live with firmware defects..but hardware defects like changing mobo is really troublesome.. It all depends on luck, just like buying a pc.
Really hard to tell with hardware on the phone.
When I bought it, it was slightly defective (maybe it was the display unit) so I went back to change a new one.
So far mine works fine and it has been more than 2 months.
Firmware, it's the garmin that is giving me slight problems. Sometimes can connect sometimes can't, but no crashes *touchwood*!!
Battery is amazing.
VERY slim, which I love very much lol
