I'm thinking of investing in Singapore shares as well.

FYI, you can open a "foreign share trading account" at Hwang-DBS. It (as the name suggests) is in partnership with Singapore's DBS banking group. However, there's currently no online share trading facility. You have to call your remisier when you want to buy or sell.

these were the fees that my osk remisier gave me earlier in the year. i know osk have reduced US trading to min. USD25 from USD30 --still expensive though. suggest you double check with osk remisier/broker if still interested. g'luck

Charges for= Singapore
Brokerage = 0.1% (min SGD 20)
Stamping Fee = Nil
Clearing Fee = 0.04% (max SGD 600)
Acess Fee = 0.0075%
Total = 0.1425%

cimb .. got online trading and Multi currency account which ur money in the account will be kept under trust

doesn't require an sg local bank account to open CIMB cross border account and it is easy for us to deposit and withdraw money

i have no idea on hong leong.. osk they all charge higher rate, i guess

1 lot in sg = 1000 shares

can open by going to PHILIP securities singapore. just open an account in sg local bank to link up to the acc prior to that. i found that in terms of brokerage fee is way lower comparing trading frm malaysia. somemore able to trade US stock in real time with low brokerage fee ( min US 20 or 0.4 %).
i dun like local securities which impose a lot of extras fees ( stamp duties,, blah blah...) after 2 yrs with them, services are found ok.

If what you mean is that, you open an account in sg and then trade sg stock in Malaysia, then Yes, for sure you can do that.

On an unrelated note, from a value perspective, I don't see much value popping out from Singapore. But, perhaps, traders have different thing that they look at and singapore, being more liquid may be a better market. But then, if liquidity is what some of you may be seeking, US perhaps is a better place?

Cimbitrade allow you to trade Singapore, HK and US shares online, the rest of market like Indonesia, Thailand, Uk, Australia, Canada etc will be by phone order, more markets will be added for ONLINE trades on top the 3 markets mentioned next year.

There is no minimum amount required to open cross border trades, In fact, opening ac is FREE of charge and you only bank in or do Internet fund transfer whenever you want to buy any of the foreign shares, pm me your email if you want the brokerage charges rate

I am a Remisier at Cimb Tropicana City Office, pm me if you would like to open an account or find out more info, no obligation and It's FREE

THANKS

It's also possible to go to Singapore and setup an online trading account. I use OCBC Singapore called "iOCBC". Website www.iocbc.com
