btw, to boot into the retail one, u need to use boot-123.

retail dvd is meant for real macs, not for hackintosh ...so i just won;t work straight away ... understand it, apple comes out with that retail dvd for real apple users, not for us ...

if u wanna upgrade, u will always need vanilla kernel, others won't work...it means if u r not using it, u will need to reinstall vanilla everytime and change back to ur original one after ugrade...it's more complicated and risky

no such version unless all ur hardware same with a macbook or any apple product....there is no easy way out....u have to go through the learning and try-n-error stage just like me ...it took me almost half a year to find out the most suitable way of installing mac on my s41,5 ...

i mean for the keyboard to work ..not the fn key ..... if u don;t do the ps/2 keyboard patch .. the keyboard stop functioning once u boot into mac os

ubuntu can be fix by adding these two lines to ur /grub/boot/menu.lst

unde rthe lines that start with "kernel" add :

i8042.nomux=1 i8042.noloop=1

very easy , for mac, when installing ideneb, tick the ps/2 keyboard patch ...then everythign will works

fn keys and bluetooth work. so no worry ...

network card, wifi only no working ...
sound card is working actually, using codec dump file from linux and AppleHDA patcher .. just that the speaker will still come out with sound eventhoguh u plug the earphone jack in.

yes, u can upgrade after that, just use the ori update from applewebsite .

after u install the update, boot into the ideneb disc again to reinstall all the patches, just untick the essential system so that it won't overlap ur OS.

then restart into verbose mode, hit F8 and type -x then enter

dell and good after sales service? i dun really agree ..many of my friends complain abt dell, say the repair process always troublesome ...benq is not bad at after sales service de, they act fast also ...even though they are small company, they have good service .

and make sure u make active ur partition for mac so that it is bootable ... u can search for the guide in google ... it's very easy steps ... and u only have to do it once, after that any reinstall of mac os x in that partition needs no more make active process

u have to install windows xp first to be able to flash the bios ..

actually no matter what brand , once the OS is a windows, u can avoid troubleshoot process from time to time ... for example problem with virus and the slowing down of the system due to fragments in the files ...

btw, is she using any 3D software, for example MAYA or 3Dmax studio?

if she uses only AutoCAD, then it's no prob with any nvidia cards like 9600, 9400, actually they are not really meant for graphic purpose but for gaming purpose...so a nvidia quardo gpu will be more suitable, just that it is harder to find in laptops

yea, it is a must.

the make actiave thing is not abt the boot loader, u have to go into the terminal after the installation, and type sumthing starting with fdisk.
i can't remember all of them, will search and post a link here later.

nope, i haven't upgrade to snow leopard yet...waiting for my friend to borrow me his ori retail dvd for his macbook

eh ... consider good ..more important is the ohm impendance ...16ohm or 32ohm will be fine for most portable mp3 device ...those too high will cause the battery to drain faster and also the earphone to sound weird as they are not functioning at the optimum potential difference ..

some ppl like to compare the frequency range as well, well, for me, so long as it stays between 20Hz to 20khz ...it is fine de, i saw some earphone with very loew frequency range to 9hz before ...the truth is their bass doenot even improve ...they sounds weaker and not as responsive as my px100 with a normal lowest range of 20hz
