QUOTE(marauderz @ Oct 4 2009, 04:11 PM) The news that Home Premium won't be available is definetly incorrect. Yeah. If you check out Microsoft's website, the Home Premium Win 7 package is even available for pre-order. QUOTE(annoymous1234 @ Oct 4 2009, 05:34 PM) they do know that people won't use 32 bit and 64 bit at once right? I think they are trying to make money by including two version inside there At least that provides the end user with a choice. If he is happy with 32-bit for now, he can use it. If he wants a 64-bit in the future, then again he has the option to choose that too.

QUOTE(FarCry3r @ Oct 4 2009, 06:54 PM) That's why I asked for the source. If OEM version will include both 32-bit and 64-bit disc, what's the incentive to get FPP (Full Packaged Product) or retail? Apart from the ability to use it on other than ability to move the license to another computer? I though the TS was referring to the retail versions only? QUOTE(-Torrz @ Oct 4 2009, 07:47 PM) Hmm I wonder if you can buy one dvd and install on multiple pcs You can't do that with an OEM copy.

QUOTE(FarCry3r @ Oct 4 2009, 08:37 PM) Read it back, TS said it's for OEM (Dell/HP/Acer/etc), that's why I'm asking, if it's not, I wouldn't be bother asking. He only refers to Windows 7 starter as an OEM product. Or at least that is what I can gather from his post.

QUOTE(farkinid @ Oct 14 2009, 10:45 AM) Anybody know a rough ballpark figure for the Win7 price? I've gotta set aside some money for it and its been an expense heavy month so far. PS. trifecta's man-boobs turn me on Ars Technica has a news piece detailing Newegg's pricing on almost all versions of Win 7. You can approximate it to about RM 400, or thereabouts, for an OEM copy of 7 Home Premium.

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 21 2009, 05:38 PM) well i'm just a college student How much are they retailing the Premium and Prof respectively? Tentative pricing and specifications can be had from Microsoft. I suppose the best feature Win 7 Pro provides to the average user is the XP compatibility mode. Apart from that, you wont be using much of it's other features.
