QUOTE(lildaredevil906 @ Oct 5 2009, 11:33 AM) ahhh.. lehtung ur macro shots are getting more powderful!! That is nice but I too think that the dof is too shallow. That is the classic error most people make when trying to get bokeh....too much of it. Just my opinion.I think the dof too little.. but thats me la.. =) Anyway, I try out the Sony image converter for raw processing and find it very unfriendly and slow. I prefer Photoshop but not sure if there is any plug in for CS2. Anyone can help? |

QUOTE(clivengu @ Oct 5 2009, 02:05 PM) Plug in for PP Cs2 tats gonna be Adobe Raw.. (version 3.5 i think)... im using that .. very effective.. n fast.. Im using it together with Adobe Bridge.. very good in managing the photos n compare photos in 100%...the only bad thing is u cant keep those setting in the camera like Vivid, sharpnest + DR ++ etc etc... I believe the Sony image converter does imbedded these info into the raw file. The Adobe raw states its for CS4...can it be use on CS2?but The Sony Image Converter r SLOOWWWWWW... hate it. |

Hi...
Which one is better? Minolta 50mm F1.7 or Sony SAL50F18? I notice that the Minolta price is quite high around Rm500 which is almost the same as a new SAL50F18. In this case, would it be better to get the new sony lens? Sorry for noob question. |

I have never used a fast prime lens before. The reason I want a fast prime is for low light shooting like indoor. Can the sal50f18 shoot without flash when shooting indoor and get decent photos? Is the dof too shallow if i shoot at f1.8 or f2?

QUOTE(Banzai_san @ Oct 17 2009, 12:54 AM) which alpha camera are you using? I'm using A300.If you could bump the ISO to higher ones.. then ok. Also if you are using APS-C alphas, you have to consider if the 50mm is wide enough for indoors photography as in indoors, you might also have the constraints of space availability. If not maybe you need to consider a wider lens. However if 50mm is sufficiently wide, then IMHO the SAL50F1.8 is a good... no ... a great lens. |

QUOTE(ieR @ Oct 23 2009, 03:45 PM) lighter usually mean plastic. and heavier means more metal parts and bigger lens piece. Buying lens is like an addiction.... I just bought my A300 about 3 weeks ago and i have bought 3 lens now. sony1118 is very very tempting, but i just brought 2 lens so need wait for another 6 month or so... Is it better than SAL18250? Added on October 24, 2009, 12:46 am QUOTE(shootkk @ Oct 24 2009, 12:37 AM) Yup! The 18-250 is one fine lens. Just don't expect miracles from it and you will be fine. It's a superzoom after all and a pretty good one at that! The 18250 is more than enough for noob like me! I will be away for a week. Going to Taiwan for travel. Hopefully can come back with lotsa nice pics! See you guys in a week's time!! This post has been edited by lightning69: Oct 24 2009, 12:46 AM |
