am just wondering... Would like to get some sort of HT setup going on for my living room in the future.
So, I'd like to know how much should I set aside for an "OK" setup.


Things I require would probably be a 5.1 setup.. front speakers, centre speakers, and rear speakers plus an AVR to control everything.

Would be great if someone can list down the individual components and price and also a recommended shop to purchase the items.

Also, how much would installation and "setup + tuning" cost? I might want the rear speakers to be mounted on the ceiling.

i'll give this a try...but its really very subjective depending on what setup u looking for & intended applications...

1) 42in Flat TV (Plasma/LCD) (RM3-4K++)

2) AVR (RM2-3K+)

3) 5.1 System (RM4-6k++)

4) cablings & interconnects (RM500-1K++)

5) BD Player (RM1K++)

6) Media Player (RM500-1.5K)

7) Tuning+Setup (make more post here, make some friends with the elite groups & they prob can help for duit kopi + roti telur) otherwise, hire professionals...

so roughly around RM10-13K for a complete setup...

again, its very subjective...i advise you to read thru the lyn home entertainment threads (its got everything you need) and decide what you want..then only can narrow down your choice...

I've already got a 42" TV. As for BD player and Media plyer, I plan to use the PS3 first..hahaha

Lol my advice is to set aside another 10-15% budget cos you will surely bust ur budget

i oredi spend 10k just for AVR, 7.1 system, cabling + installation
on the next upgrade list is BD player, media player and big big LED TV.
nowsaday, money really can't buy much of these AV staff.
