Hi guys, something bad happened on me, and I wrote a email to the Toyota and see if they will reply me. Below is the content.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi.
I'm going to be a Toyota owner on Tuesday, even though the safety issue in US is still at edge, and I believe Malaysia's model is clear from the safety issue.
Unfortunately, one of your salesman, Mr. xxx, from Prai, offer an extra insurance (RM150) to my parents when they passed the downpayment cheque to him, and this done without my acknowledgment. According to Mr. xxx, this extra insurance will cover for the wind mirror, in case anything happen to the wind mirror, I still can claim the insurance without affecting the NCB.
First of all, I'm extremely busy with my recent work. When my parents told me that they paid for the extra insurance, I really need to say congratulations to you because your salesman successfully pissed me off.
As the owner, I expect first hand information including extra offers or whatever offers. Your salesman disrespect me by offering extra insurance to my parents, who are not the owner. I felt cheated for this extra insurance, or I should say it is a bullshit offer that the salesman created just to earn more money from my pocket, and this is completely disgrace.
I expect refund for the extra and useless insurance. And I expect for your respond on Monday (29-3-10). Just in case if my concern is not entertained, I will bring this case to the Tribunal Court. At the mean time, I'm spreading this incident in the internet, so that you will take this issue seriously.
Have a nice day.

First of all personally I think its good to have windscreen insured and secondly your parents should have consulted you and last but not least the SA is cari makan and was just doing his job.
*
I'm ok with the windscreen insurance, if the SA consulted me, as the owner. But not my parents that passed him the downpayment cheque.
I felt disrespect, as the owner I have the right to decide what's good for my car, he shouldn't persuade my parents for the extra insurance, without acknowledge me at all. And he didn't tell me anything for this windscreen insurance until I called him up.
If my mother didn't mention this to me while we were on our way back from Cheng Meng, I will never know about this insurance.
And I agree with you that he's just doing his job, but he didn't do it in a proper way.

well bad things happen and this is non-related to Toyota so sad to say... what they can do is put a disciplinary action on the SA... which showroom u went to?? the one at Prai Industry area or Bagan **** (i forget what name already)... actually some of the showroom and service center now are franchised shops and not own by UMW Toyota Sdn Bhd... so it is better to approach back the SA that service you or talk to the person in-charge at the branch... sad to hear that from u but there is some con-man in action everywhere...
*
I went to the showroom at Prai industry zone.
My father bought a Toyota van from him like 13 years ago, he claimed the SA can be trusted, so I didn't remind them to beware of any offers that made on last minute.

I can see your principal and I agree with you.

By the way just to share, this insurance not only covers your windscreen, it also covers all window glass and rear screen
too.

i am the car owner but i'm the last to know. tongue.gif

bro, well does not matter it was a few months or years ago... but any additional offer is not that good... even they say they give you voucher for tinting or help u to do so, in the end the so call voucher is another gimmick... when we buy our Vios we straight tell him give us the RM500 discount and we will do it outside... no need to be that troublesome
*
yeah, i read about this gimmicks from some forums. but i will still get the voucher (if there is ) and pay a visit to the tint shop, after quote me a price then i only show the voucher tongue.gif

wah long complain, Just only RM150 u make this complain if you got the car and say why the gas respond is slow i think your complain will be even more ...

at least the sales person do tell ur family member got this offer, If he/she dint tell and after you got ur car and u find out got that offer and was not given to you i think you complain again right?
yes he doing his job maybe wrong timing but this type of coverage is good for customer safety...
*
hi bro, maybe you didn't get my point.
I am the car owner but i am the last to know. As i said, if the SA offer this windscreen insurance to me directly, i will consider about this.

Let's make a assumption. You and your wife bought a Plasma TV, you and your wife agreed on the price. Then you pass your credit card to your wife then walk away to have a look at washing machine. When you return, your wife tell you that she paid extra rm100 for extended warranty. Will you still 'oh yes, thanks for the extended warranty.'??????

By the way, the SA just called me and the money will be returned.

to me i dont care much, if my wife have accepted an extended warranty i will be more happy even so i dont know..
at least she smart to pick the right choice for normal electric item during warranty period no issue and normal case happen after warranty.

have u find out how much our vios glass cost? it cost more then u aspected. RM 150 is just a small price to pay.

i'm glad that you are more than happy to let people put their hand into your pocket to take away something that you earned with you blood and sweat rclxms.gif

i know the windscreen is more than 1k, i just don't appreciate the way the SA offer the insurance.

hi, i just want to give my 2 cents on lun073's experience. i had a bad experience with a SA too, scroll back a few pages for info.

my point is, it's not a matter of whether or not the insurance is good or bad. the deal must be done in good faith. we are the consumer and we have the ...
*
I always say to my friends, if we pay for something that we expected but we didn't get it, we complain.
Most of my friends are against me in this point, this is why now a lot of sellers/ shop like to do dishonest business, because nobody will do anything.

2 or 3 years ago, Maybank2u deducted my saving account twice for the same transaction, and the amount was RM90. I spent almost 1 year to get the money back, I complained to Bank Negara and FMB, I spend more than RM90 just to make calls.

Last year, I opened new saving account at RHB, the service i received was awful. I complained using their official website enquiry page. At the end, the Complain Department from KL called to apologize, then the branch manager assistant called to explain and also apologize.

Consumers in Malaysia don't want their interest to be protected, or they don't wanna protect their own interest. Then who gains or and who rugi?
