Will most likely be getting the 2010 Dugong E specs real soon. If I'm not mistaken, I saw the tires that they give will be Goodyear NCT, should this be replaced with something better? Well, not talking about those performance tires but is it worth changing to something like a Michelin XM1 since can trade in while it is still new right? About the tires, since the E specs comes with a 175/65 R14, if the tires should be changed to replace the Goodyear NCT, should I go for slightly bigger tires like the 185/60 R15 (as used in the G specs)? However, the default stock rims will not be usable anymore right? Your suggestions are very much appreciated.

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Oct 18 2010, 09:45 AM) Is it recommended to go for 185/60R14 or should just stick with 175/65R14? What are the pros and cons? Just wondering since the Vios G specs by default uses the 185/60R15 instead but don't want to be replacing the rims so soon. Thanks for enlightening a newbie here.

Guys, do drum brakes require replacements? I think best if I number my questions: 1) Do drum brakes require replacements? If they do, how often? 2) Do drum brakes use any brake pads? From some photos I see, I can't find to see where the brake pads are fitted? 3) I noticed an older car I have, the drum brakes on the rear wheels is creating screech sound and sometimes some sort of weird sound. What could be the issue? Sorry if some of my questions sound ridiculous, I did some reading on the Internet but cannot really understand it. So I was thinking if the members in this forum could give a simpler and straightforward answer.

Not getting much response from the tires discussion topic so decided to post it in here and see if any of you Vios owners can help.
If I were to choose between Continental ContiComfortContact CC5 and Michelin XM1 for 175/65/R14, which would be a better buy?
What will be the major difference between both tires (e.g. compound, price etc.)?

Guys, my new Dugong 2010's alignment is not 100% when I received the car. This kind of cases can't be avoided sometimes right? It is about 99% perfect, the steering wheel is just slightly to the left to for the wheels to be straight.
So can this problem be permanently fixed? Ask them to correct the alignment during service (this weekend will be the first service for 1000km)?

Just changed the tires to Michelin XM1, well still better than the stock Goodyear tires. Added on December 16, 2010, 12:40 amBy the way, just wondering why car manufacturers always mention about driving conservatively for the first 1000km? What are the reasons and what are the effects if a driver were to ignore it and try to push the engine? This post has been edited by yongkailoon: Dec 16 2010, 12:40 AM

Hi guys, when the car is not moving like say waiting a traffic light to turn green, whenever the air-cond compressor turns on, I can feel the engine suddenly turn a bit rough with vibration. Is this the known idling issue? If yes, then how can it be fixed?

Do you guys often experience stones flying to your windscreen when you're driving especially on a highway? I'm annoyed as it happens quite often to me.

Anyone can confirm if 2010 Vios Dugong comes with an air-cond filter? Went to a workshop and they told me it is already fitted with an air-cond filter but the thing is inside the car, it gets dusty after a while I drive out when I have cleaned the interior earlier. So I did some research online and found out that many cars these days are not fitted with an air-cond filter. Now I'm confused as the workshop told me that my Vios is already fitted with one. Hopefully someone can enlighten me.

QUOTE(kazami @ Feb 15 2011, 12:42 PM) yong, if i not mistaken. it is fitted once the new batch out. got once i tried to remove my glove compartment box, i saw there is a black frame fitted in there but i tried to remove it but fail.. try ask tester, he is also driving vios.. But his one is either the 2008 or 2009 model. Mine is the 2010 model so I think will be more accurate if someone can confirm for the 2010 model. Problem is my dashboard gets dusty just after like 30 minutes or 1 hour of driving when I have already cleaned the interior (dashboard etc.) before I go out. So I suspect it is coming from the air-cond since all windows are shut and the ventilation thing also is shut.
