Well, some people I've been speaking to previously had the same idea as mine, so I guess we all stand corrected. smile.gif
If you checked back, you would notice that I was replying to michael, actually. smile.gif
Secondly, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to explain how a generation shift is defined, properly at least.
And lastly, I wasn't offended by neither michael, nor mcryan.  This is after all, a forum for enthusiasts, and I am here to learn more as I go.
I just didn't appreciate the blatant rudeness, that's all, and I wouldn't want to resort to ignoring anyone ; after all, today they might be rude to me, tomorrow they might be enlightening me with new knowledge! (properly, I hope)

1stly if you talk to a SA of Toyota those ppl will laugh at u if you mention it is the 3rd Gen... whole world also know that facelift cannot be consider as generation change... a bunch of ppl did not represent of the whole world... please go for Wikipedia for generation chart...

michael, read from ur previous post that GY NCT-5 is rubbish. Toyota SC just replaced my GT3 with NCT-5 due to the tyre eat 1 side problem. Is it really that bad in wet or downhill? Reason being, thinking to sell them off when it's still new now and get a new set of PP2.
1 funny thing is i hv to pay for the alignment/balancing to get my tyres replaced. n also they refuse to replace the spare tyre saying it's not "on the wheel".

Only a mean SA will do that, but i believe most likely the ones from branch which i believe should be more snobbish than the dealer ones. Try my SA and i bet his friendly and will explain to u until u understand.

If i not mistaken u using either J or E spec? If i were u, i rather go for a 15 inch or 16 inch upgrade and go for a better tyre like using Michelin PP2, falken 912 or hankook evo series.

yes... it is not that nice la... after 50% wear... still ok b4 that but careful in the rain/wet...
u need to upgrade to 15" if you are on 14" currently... so it is up to u... PP2 is ur safest bet... u cannot put directional tires onto ur wheels coz later u will scold me "y the tire noise is too loud"... haha

I'm not saying the whole world agrees with me; I was just pointing out that the familiar bunch that I hang out with just so happens to have the same train of thought as mine, is that really so hard to comprehend? rolleyes.gif
I don't mind being wrong, if you bothered to read my previous explanation it should be pretty clear what I was trying to get across. But I guess that's probably how you communicate with others, so I'll respect that.

So, thank you for letting me know that a face-lift does not equate to a generation shift. Thank you, so very, very, very much. You are most kind, sir.
laugh.gif

On another note, finally scraped some time to get my car serviced. Got a RM 529 bill, though. Ouch sad.gif

Engine Performance is same in all the spec toyota offer but TRD performance drop a bit due to extra weight it have ...
Example power to weight ....TRD is heavy so drop abit performance
good side is the braking system is the best compare to othere spec (G spec share the same) E and J abit weak due to TRD, S, G brake caliper is abit bigger = more grip power...

Enjoy your mom new car rclxm9.gif

I own the vios TRD but sad to say there is not much difference between a normal vios and the TRD one. Unless if u opt for the 3k sports suspension option, the handling will improve.

But still stock or not, the vios is one rev happy machine and should satisfy u on daily driving, be it economical or spirited. tongue.gif

I not quite sure about this as this is impacting US in the moment. UMWT has not come out with any statement. For now the yaris n vios models were not impacted.

Bro we are talking about Malaysia... yes the Chasis got previous model on it already, but it is not in malaysia... so it is 2nd Gen in VIOS...

QUOTE(McRyan @ Jan 28 2010, 03:00 PM)

*
it will able to fit in... smile.gif no worries... but when i see it, is like they are not enough air cos the tire width is slightly wider than the rim... i'm using 195/55 R15 with my Ori 15" rim which is only 5.5jj which is the min requirement fitting in for 195 series of tire...
generally 195 tires fit 5.5jj ~7jj of rims, 185 fits 5jj~6.5jj (if not mistaken)
so it is up to ur own preference

hello everyone. just want to ask about my car. that day i drive and got take over from behind for a myvi. that time dy 140km/h. i want to ask myvi faster? and i didn't press more the pedal cause my car already start being shaky and unstable. is it normal? my alignment all ok. my car is stock. the myvi also stock i think.
*
cannot be wat... ur alignment is ok but not ur wheel balancing leh... maybe ur tires got problem also... take to a tire shop and see... try Kee Hin (Michelin shop) at Old Klang Road... they are quite good in this... my Vios 140~160 also no shaking but normally max is around 140 only...

BTW what brake pads u change??? from ur RM520 i guess it is the V Belt and the rear brake pad... for that price is ok la... not that expensive... front brake pad will cost u a bomb, around RM350 for that... sweat.gif but it is nice to use compare to 3rd Party... less brake powder and also very good braking power, it is from Akebono (not sure the spelling is correct or not) Japan...

get ready around er... RM1.2k for the 80k change... the package and Flush ATF and my V-belt it cost me around RM1250...
wheels and air-cond matter u can take it outside... if not check at Denso at Glenmarie for air-cond matters... they sub-out this 2 categories to outer resources... haha...

No worries, pal. It all turned out good in the end, and I learned something new. smile.gif
I opted for the locally-manufactured ones (RM 119.50) instead of the "imported from japan" ones at RM 400+. Seems like it has gone up in price. sad.gif
The v-belt itself was RM 46.00, but I'm just happy now that there is no longer that rattling noise whenever the car starts up cold. laugh.gif

Ouch, RM 1.2k? Thanks for letting me know, at least I'll be mentally prepared when going for the 80k service, haha.
