Meego is the platform where nokia 's Maemo merged with Intel's Moblin...
and since some time back, nokia already made the announcement to say that their high end phone in the future will run Meego, while mid range will be Symbian. Apps would most likely use Qt platform, which code is compatible with both Meego and Symbian, so apps can run fine on both OS. Also, Symbian's new boss also made an announcement recently to say that there is no Symbian^4 already. Instead, it would be just one Symbian right now, the Symbian^3, and all the extra enhancement/features etc etc will be added to Symbian^3 as updates. So if they plan to stick with this, it means user don have to worry if their phone is upgradeable to Symbian^4 or not anymore.

or even better,provide free upgrade to symbian^3 for n97mini...  

alright. There's no way any of the current Symbian^1 Devices by Nokia get Symbian^3 due to hardware limitation. The hardware in Nokia Symbian^1 devices are too weak in hardware. And haven't you realise even the newer phone with resistive screen comes with Symbian^1. So maybe, all resistive will stick back to Symbian^1.
There's one more point too. Nokia stated there's no more N Series devices with Symbian OS already.
With all that factors, I would call a 0% for N97 Mini to get Symbian^3.

N97 Mini really has no chance for multitouch at all (resistive touch)
Faster proc? OC maybe? But I read around, 768mhz is the max we can get on ARM11
Graphics? USB graphics adaptor perhaps... plug in and the display comes out at another screen with the graphics adaptor?
