what is all the fuss about region code 4 ps3? all ps3 are region free rite... i dont quite understand bout this...

PS3 games are region free (u can play alright, but online play might be restricted to same regions servers), however it is Region A for Blu Ray playback and Region 3 for DVD playback. |

Mainly DLC I guess.
If buy R2 game, very hard to download DLC because need EU PSN Wallet first. |

Region coding are for bluray discs playback only. There are 3 regions:
A - US + Asia (DVD NTSC format) B - Europe + Australia + NZ (DVD PAL format) C - Russia + India (dont ask why....  )Gaming for PS3 are region free, u can buy any software from any region, and they play on any PS3. PSN acct is tied to your login and address, not the PS3 hardware itself. If u login to US PSN, u need a US address + US credit card to buy stuff from it. Same goes for UK PSN, HK PSN, SG PSN, JPN PSN and so on. For MY PSN, u need a MY add + MY credit card la.... tak kan u dont have that.... But DLC is region-locked, so it depends on what PSN ID and credit you have.
EU PSN is easy to register, but hard to top up wallet  |
