There is no hand holding in German RPGs. They expect you to find everything by yourself without the aid of quest markers. Experienced Gothic players are used to this kinda system. Don't expect Oblivion style gameplay here. German role playing games are much more hardcore, made specifically for adults not kids.

I only played Gothic 3. Is it similar to that or have more interesting questing? I can't finish it due to the same FedEx quest and arena match for every damn town.

Different type of mob or opponent require using different fighting style from what I observe. Side step is very effective while against boar. There actually quest marker when you open up the quest list and choose the appropriate map for the quest. Sometimes you do need to pay attention on the dialogues and the quest info, as well as location for map. If you dont mind running around, crossbow is quite a nice weapon in my opinion, and can instant kill at the last hit on human without knocking them down like using sword.

So far I completed 90% above the quests in bandit camp, meet with their Don, avoiding quests which will choosing side for the moment now 1st. Same goes to harbor town quest, majority complete beside those which will affect which side you siding, the order or the don. Also killed 95% of the guards in the town, left those only in god mode or with names . Current just reach the order's base and having couple of quests in hand.

Currently only got few spell lvl1 spell, where the jest spell is quite handy when aggro a few npc at the same time.

the best part is when i learn sword skill lvl up 7 around. Cuz the sifu told me i can start using two-handed sword by one hand and other hand by use shield.

dude careful. also there's a farmer u must spare his life. have u done the mission where u have to blackmail a shop taukey, where u have to go checkout a farmer who take care of his cow near eastern gate? i can't find that farmer.  i didn't recall if i killed any farmer, but maybe i did as i can't find him!

I never played Gothic 1 before, but 2 yes, stopped since the quest is just too messed up for me

Earlier in the game, i tot Sara (with you on the sea-shore) is also one of the main character, finally ended up working at the bandit camp. 
Should be on lvl9  . I'm on lvl8 now btw.

Piractical action-RPG sequel Risen 2: Dark Waters will use Steamworks for its copy protection on PC, publisher Deep Silver has announced. It'll be the only DRM used in both retail and digital copies.

Being a Steamworks games means that all copies of Risen 2 bought anywhere other than Steam, whether retail or digital, will need to be activated on a Steam account to play. After that, you won't need your discs, CD key, or anything again, as it'll be tied to that Steam account. Permanently tied. In return, you'll get auto-updating, achievements, and all Steam's other fancy features.

Deep Silver explained that it has "diligently reviewed many solutions in the last couple of years," judged by the following criteria:

        Security: The copy protection scheme in question has to be very secure for the customer as well as the publisher.

        Compatibility: The technology has to be compatible with all hardware components out there.

        Comfort: The protection has to add value to the player aside to its protective behaviour.

        Support: The technology has to provide us the means to help customers if the product is not behaving in the expected manner.

        Reliability: The scheme has to be proven stable over multiple years and many products.

Risen 2: Dark Waters is developed by Piranha Bytes, the studio which created Gothic and made the first three games in the fantasy RPG series--not ArcaniA: Gothic 4. It'll swashbuckle onto PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Keep your eyes on the horizon, as there's no sign of a release date yet.

Publisher Deep Silver will be shipping 1 million copies of Risen 2 from Piranha Bytes when it releases early next year, as they invest "more than ever" in the IP.

The high ratings for the Risen 2 trailer "shows the expectations" fans have of the sequel, which introduces pirates. It's had "parallel development" for platforms.

Risen 2 is set several years after the first.

Deep Silver has confirmed that there will not be any mod tools for their upcoming action/RPG Risen 2: Dark Waters, but when it came to the possibility of DLC, they were remarkably coy.

Senior Brand Manager Daniel Oberlerchner said that unfortunately the team was too small to be able to devote the time and resources needed to be able to do proper mod tools:

"...that's the challenge with mod tools - to make them accessible, but also to make them so that gamers can modify them to such a (big) extent."

As for DLC plans however, Oberlerchner wouldn't say anything to confirm or deny, only stating that if they were to do DLC, it would have to be significant.

"It's ok to have like new items and stuff, but it's important to also deliver content, and we don't just mean one mission, two missions... for us it would need to be at least a new island, a new quest hub, maybe multiple islands..."

Risen 2: Dark Waters is due out on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC, with the console version being worked on by a separate studio. It is due for release early-mid 2012.

Deep Silver has announced a special pre-order bonus for anyone that purchases the RPG Risen 2: Dark Waters before its release at the end of April.

"Treasure Isle" is the free DLC that will be given to pre-order customers, which is valued at £8.00 / 800 Microsoft Points. Players will embark on a new quest to uncover Captain Steelbeard's legendary treasure, which continues a plot element from the first Risen game.

The story of the DLC revolves around Harlok, a cook on Steelbeard’s ship Elenor, who stole the secret clues that lead to the pirate captain’s hidden treasure. However it is only with the help of the player that Harlok is able to find it.

This quest will take the hero and Patty, Steelbeard’s daughter, to an unknown island that offers new environments to explore with many puzzles to solve, treasures to loot and mysteries to unravel. The player will discover a legendary item (only available in this DLC) - offering his character a permanent stat boost.

Risen 2: Dark Waters will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in April 2012.

just wanted to ask how to redeem the DLC....there's code behind the manual which makes me believe the DLC is free. but im not sure how to get it...

clicking on the Extra-DLC brings me to Steam page which requires payment...

i believe the code already includes the DLC for the First Edition. Have you checked the DLC tab under the game's properties in your library?

Yes, i believe so too cause the manual provides the codes as well for the DLC.
