When I use vlc player v1.0.2 to play a avi video file - I got this message -
No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

I am using OS Vista Business Edition. Can anyone suggest to me which player can play this type of format?

Thank you for your help.

Don't use vlc. Just use media player with K-lite codec.

Or compile your own..

"undf" is undefined.

example:
CODE
main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc 'undf'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

Don't use vlc. Just use media player with K-lite codec.
I downloaded Media Player Classic - K-LiteCodecPack510Full.
When I play the file, this is the error message:
CODE
Cannot render the file

If anyone had a problem with undf in downloaded mkv files, it's likely that u use HJsplit to joined them and causes the problem. the file actually has a security password in it but HJsplit bypass them and join them anyway. Try to use FFSJ to join and you'll be prompted for password. that way you'll be able to play your .mkv.
