 how do i play hd video+surround thru my pc?

hey guys.. i just realized that my motherboard has spdif output for 5.1hd audio and a hdmi port for 1080p output..
the thing is, what sort of media player software do i use to output surround sound and without loosing any video quality?


i downloaded a player called miro but it isnt able to show subtitles (.srt) files while playing the video..

vlc player, window media player also able to do that.
