Woah.. I like the 2003 one, the pose and flame rocks.

This 2009 one looks simpler.. and wow, she has a very flexible waist. Your shading style very good for making comics. smile.gif

I think brian's hair is quite similar to manga already. Not all manga has silky hair. I do agree that the way he highlights the hair can be improved though.

I already finished some variants I based on yukutan, including one I did in my earlier style I posted here, the anon army style.

I wonder what all of you think of the legs of sadako musume, the one I posted way back?

I like the weapons she's carrying.. though something bothers me about the boobs though.. like they're off center or something. And her left foot seems like it would look better pointed in the same direction as the right. Could be just me tho.

Browsing through my photobucket and found an old copy of Innuyasha fanart...

Looks very similar to the real thing, because I copied it off the page of a manga, and drew it on an oekaki board.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Now I'm trying to get away from copying and doing my own stuff.... but meh.. not enough skills.

These are some concepts I came up with....

Yukkuri-tan singing a yukkuri song. Done in a style that I'm quite familiar with...
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Yukkuri-tan appearing in shoujo manga... Just playing around.. wondering what a shoujo manga filter will distort.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Rough draft of.. I dunno what it is lol.. but she looks japanese.. I'm wondering how yukutan hair can be drawn realistically when physics and gravity applies.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Oh, now after scanning do I remember the strand of hair out of yukuri-tan's head. >_>

thanks.. I'll draw a better version of it. no comments on the guitar playing one? The guitar was hard to draw lol... and so is the fingering for the fret.. I appoximated a C chord.. lol. The style pretty similar to the first art I posted here, the anon-army one.

yukutan looks very nice with the guitar except she looks fat xD
*
lol, indeed she does.. due to the placement of the guitar.. lol..

Will try to fix that lol.. wonder if the angle of the guitar can be moved.

Hmm.. thinking of it..maybe I should just draw the legs, make it appear she's sitting down.. when sitting down, the angle of 40-45 degrees she's holding the guitar would be perfect.

something something... tried to change style to more simple style and make it "distort" a bit. but looks like pokemon character.

Your simple style actually looks like the american drawn anime, esp the clothes.

lol never expected you will say like that.

so far american anime for me is the eye pupil is too small and i usually dont like it. especially teen titans series.
*
Actually I wasn't thinking of the teen titan series, but for me, what's different about american anime is how they draw the bodies, and by extension, the clothes, there's too many faces style for american anime. I wonder how many here old enough to remember Dark Horse's comics Dirty Pair by Adam Warren, I think his style quite close to japanese style.

No art posts till I get back from langkawi.

Now I know what is a sketchbook cover, i'll make a mockup of one of my own. With super thick lineart. He he. Not for selling, but to see how it would look like in real life.

good stuff. Side profiles are the easiest to start with.

In reality, humans turn by rotating their pelvis, not their waist. Our waist has quite limited range, which is forward and backward and maybe like 10deg rotation, but our hips and pelvic makes it wider. That's why some poses just don't work in real life, no matter how pretty the model.

Edited:think I forgot to keylock my phone after editing this post. That's why got the quad shot post.

Sorry about the posting debacle. Anyway, back home and ready to spam this thread with random stuff. Anyway, sakura, I also have another fuwa fuwa wing design ala galaxy angels wings logo. Pretty easy to stitch together, got two versions, the lazy version, and cute fat version, based on the same design. Maybe you've done it before?

Makinami, 300dpi jpg.. 600+KB.. you can see the rough edges of the lines.. heh.. I tried printing in A4, the roughness doesn't appear at 600dpi printing.
Do we really need such high dpi for non photoes?

here's the completed version, a4 size, 300dpi, obviously it's squarish, so not really full a4 size.

My rendition of the yukkuri and yuku-tan logo.

Printed on A4 paper on BW laser at 600dpi.. doesn't look rough.. amazingly... (O_o)
