IMO AKG stuff are good but not worth the price. however some of them (e.g. 142 HD) looks really nice though ;P good build quality

anyway im here cuz i hope u guys can help me out a lil bit. my 3 year old Sennheiser PX100 now is in bad condition...the foam pads gets off frequently, the pads at the band is getting torn off... but the sound quality is still good. Im hoping to get a new headphone to replace it, but cant seem to decide on one.

- price less than rm300
- can buy from local shop (so i can test it out myself)
- has to be better (or same quality) as the PX100
- portable. i'll be bringing this to the library a lot
- no need noise cancelling n such. i prefer open cans (i know i just mentioned library..haha)
- comfortable, of course ;p

i mostly listen to metal music and im a drummer so naturally i like my headphones to reproduce drum tracks good. not to say i only want good bass...i'd prefer to miss out on the highs instead of the lows, but mids are my main concern

to be honest i didnt have much opportunity to survey myself, and the only portable cans i can find is the Audio Technica FC700. i think its hard for me to compare it with the PX100 at the shop (its noisy), so i'd appreciate it if any of you can share ur comments. thx!
