Dear all sifu,

Could you please all help me to setup for my home theatre system:

1) I wish to have a 42" TV - Budget Below Rm3200
Prefer as long as warranty as possible- mostly oni 2 years now. i wish to hv 5 years o. Any shops?
I am unable to decide to go for LCD or Plasma after refer to the thread in lowyat v1,v2,v3 and v4.
There is so many pros and cons between LCD and Plasma.
I am so worrying about the lifespan of the LCD and Plasma. Ai..
I am so worrying about the IR and burn in for Plasma. Ai...
Should I go for Full HD or not?
So which so I go for model and brand?

2) I wish to a home theatre about 1000W - Budget Below Rm2000
I wish to have home theatre with a karaoke mode to sing songs.
I wish to have 5.1 system.
Is this Philips model(HTS3378/98) have karaoke mode?
Any suggestion other than the model I suggest?

3) I wish to buy a rmvb converter - Budget below Rm350
I saw the rmvb converter the resolution is low. Is it able full view in other resolution if I buy 42" tv which is able to support higher resolution?

2) Most HTiB sucks at Karaoke..especially the Philips (cause I have one!) .the interface is also clumsy and tall boys dun really do justice with those puny speakers
I would recommend Sony HT-K5 with your budget. DVD player can get top of the line Sony NS728HP or Pioneer DV420V. Use the amp function for Karaoke instead of rely on the DVD player.

3)Well, I'm not into rmvb converter, but afaik there are HD ready rmvb players out there...example is the Clamul brand which is famous for rmvb media box...readily available in Malaysia.
But as Clamul brand is good for rmvb...the top range Clamul players that supports mkv are not very encouraging.
So i would suggest you to check out the Lowyat Garage sale forum and do some background checking on the seller, product and support.

1) So you are suggesting me to buy plasma? Is it necessary to have full HD for future need? Is this model Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma TV [TH-P42X10K] ok?
2) Do you have other model where the speaker is standing one? Do u have more choices?

1)Get the fullHD onelah...its so affordable now.
2)haha...I knew you were into looks rather than sound quality...same with me at first.
If you really want tall boyz, trouble is, the amp and speakers that comes with a HTiB ain't suitable for Karaoke for your budget.

Pioneer HTP RS3 speakers...yes, I emphasize on speakers that are capable of higher output sound.
